other than participation there isnt a single data point that puts soccer or union ahead of the AFL in Sydney. Not even television. At the professional level, the AFL is probably already number 2 - on revenue, crowds, members, sponsors, and tv ratings.

Thanks pal. That's what you call "opinion". And you,'re allowed to have one.
You loons seem to think that your opinion over rides reality

"unfair cola cap" is a matter of perspective.

And unlike Rugby league, the AFL is about far more than TV ratings.

and ffs your league is called the NATIONAL rugby league.

Wookie, 12 months ago the AFL were in complete meltdown because of there poor ratings. The AFL are no different to anyone else , even though you might like to make out they are.
The MEDIA and pundits were in meltdown maybe. The AFL would have been concerned, but every man and his dog with half a brain knew why the ratings were down.
They had various excuse, I recall, Comm Games, To defence orientated, remote Control use . It must of been something because Gilligan soon wacked on more Thursday night games..

do you have reasons or excuses why this is well down on the averages for thursday

Your 7 mate theory wont work here! The football was on the main channel. It just a case of two high rating sports tacking ratings off each other.

A tick over 9mil lead for the AFL with only a handful of rounds plus finals to go.
The NRL, even with 2 extra h&a are going to have to pull something magic out of their arse to catch the AFL this year.
Actually a couple more creatively accounted "magic rounds" might do the trick......

Well even if they do... but no broncos means Brisbane switch off in droves.

A rugby league season is bit more than just a home away competition.

Like a few amateur comps
A national aide playing against international aides stacked with nrlol players that rate levels of a normal Friday night H&A game level with only slightly better crowds

Of that ever popular soo game that fans turn up to see a state play another state then disappear again!

While your there Gollum,

Why does the nrlol get totally slaughtered in all the finals games

I just checked, my post clearly stated AFL and NRL the premier domestic comps in the land.
You both seem to be struggling to comprehend this direct comparison of domestic comps.
I'm happy to help, what part exactly don't you understand?
