5 SEVEN’S AFL: THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Seven Network 728,000 33,000 475,000 29,000 121,000 70,000
AFL Fox 263k

14 THURSDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Nine 411,000 247,000 0 164,000 0 0
NRL Fox 230k

R1 AFL Opener between Carlton and Richmond drew 1.231m viewers, up from 1.137m in 2018 (+8%). Metro was up 10%, Regional up 28%, Fox down 4.3%. (Hello Kayo)

The AFL's game easily beat the NRLs opener which unlike last night had no other sporting opposition. The game started at 4.30pm on a weekday in Perth too.

The AFL easily won last night too with the NRL probably not even making 1mil.

The AFL rated more in Melbourne than the NRL in Sydney and Brisbane combined.

So that is 1-0 in favour of the AFL :thumbleft:

Didn't the first game of the NRL rate 1.2 million too last week?

No, only 1.18mil, well below 1.23mil

Derp

Just under 850,000 viewers tuned into Channel Nine's coverage of the Storm's win, with another 333,895 watching on Fox Sports – who enjoyed a 27 per cent ratings increase on last year's season opener.

So who will win the ratings tonight?

The NRL have 2 Qld sides and the AFL have 2 Melbourne sides.

The NRL play their Goliath club the Broncos, and the AFL have their equivalent the Magpies

Both are at the same time. Who will rate more?

Could be pretty close.
tight contest between the two may determine the figure>

I think i will say the AFL will get the points by 50k

5 SEVEN’S AFL: FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Channel 7 709,000 41,000 436,000 27,000 115,000 90,000

7 FRIDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE Channel 9 483,000 221,000 10,000 240,000 4,000 8,000

Not all the ratings are in but it looks like the AFL are heading for another win.

Now Pussycat, the AFL rated 68k in Sydney and Brisbane, while the NRL only rated 22k in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, a difference of over 3 times! So these figure contradict your absurd claim that the NRL rates better in AFL states than the AFL in NRL states.

In fact 16% of sports fans in Sydney watched the AFL over the NRL while only 2% of sports fans in Melbourne watched the NRL over the AFL

As usual you've changed things around to suit . And as I have said before , there a plenty of league fans who like to watch other sports even skill les games like AFL . Boosting your ratings well above what it would normally be. - enjoy that silver!

yeah weve already put that absurd argument to bed. Of the very small percentage that would switch from NRL to AFL for the last 30 minutes they would only be counted as 1/6th because of being averaged over 3 hour telecast. That wouldnt even come close to the disadvantage of showing the AFL in Perth on 7mate at 4.30pm on a Friday

Of the 1mil that watch the NRL on Friday night what proportion do YOU think would then switch over to watch the last quarter of the AFL?
