Sevens Friday night football mostly always out rates the NRL broadcast by a healthy margin.
The NRL as always is only runner up !
I honestly can’t remember the last time Nine’s Friday Night NRL beat Seven’s AFL. Seven always wins by a big margin too.
3 capitals vs 2.
Both codes are broadcast live in every capital city market. The AFL just has much more nationwide appeal.

Why lie?! Afl numbers in Sydney similar to NRL numbers in Melbourne. That's not even factoring gem vs 7mate.

So saying advertisers looking at metro's first is false. They want Sydney then Melbourne.

A myth perpetrated by fumblers ...
why is $100 spent on dog food , toilet paper & cereal spent in Melbourne any more valuable to advertisers then $100 spent in Newcastle or Canberra
thats right its not ...'

why do advertisers want Sydney first
its the biggest market thats why
melb next ?
its the next biggest market

RL's advantage is that while it only has 2 of the 5 mainland capitals it has all 5 of the next 5 " biggest " markets in the land.

I think they are mainly interested in metro figures. Which is well documented. I am guessing they then look city by city. From what I recall, the companies that buy the advertising spaces to onsell look at overall figures.
