Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
So who will win tonight's ratings?
The NRL have a sydney and Brisbane club playing, both who made the finals last year
The AFL have two Melbourne clubs playing, so only 1 city engaged. Plus Perth will see the game at 4.20pm on a weekday
Surely advantage NRL

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
You'd have to think NRL for that reason.
Expecting massive numbers down here for tonight's clash though, can't wait.

Never realised quite how much hate there was for AFL from our Northern friends.

I was definitely expecting 80k at the very least.SportCapital wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 10:23 am A bit disappointing.

Are our crowds normally lower on a Thursday, by this much?

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
NRL Broncos v Dragons
Total 997k
Metro 479k
Regionals 290k
STV 228k
3-0 to the AFL
Man, trouble in NRL land if they cant even break 1mil for a nail-biter with the Broncos playing

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
1million is a good number>> the NRL and broadcasters would be happy with that figure,
1mill thursday and Friday are great figures..
and your love affair with the broncos is beyond flirty
Ch7 play Richmond Collingwood your 2 biggest Melbourne clubs just as much as the Broncos with Ch9

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Melbourne's ratings dont virtually double when the pies or tigers play because they are only 1 of 10 clubs in Melbourne, not the only club. Furthermore there are numerous clubs the AFL can play to maximise ratings. If they really wanted to target the highest ratings theyd play the eagles vs a melbourne club every Thursday or Friday night. However daylight savings and the time difference make that almost impossible.leeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 12:16 pm1million is a good number>> the NRL and broadcasters would be happy with that figure,

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
the game tonight in the NRL will go very close to that figure also.NlolRL wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 12:23 pmMelbourne's ratings dont virtually double when the pies or tigers play because they are only 1 of 10 clubs in Melbourne, not the only club. if not beat it..
Blah Blah Ch9 Show Broncos >> They will be on FTA 15 times this year only 15>>
and 4 of those games are on Sunday..
1. Ch9 doesnt show them all the time.
2. 60% of games are only FTA>>
3. IF WE HAD THE AFL DEAL
BRONCOS COWBOYS would be on FTA every week
WOW JUST WOW
could you imagen the lift in TV FIGURES

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
COWBOYS IN FACT ARE JUST AS BIG A TV WINNER AS THE BRONCOS
BECAUSE OF THE POPULARITY IN REGIONAL QLD
but will only get 11 FTA games>>
In fact the way the NRL deal is set up..
it limits the figures of some of our biggest clubs.. with limited FTA games..
Gold Coast Titans for example when on FTA rate around 150k+ "Brissy Metro figures"
but will only get 3 FTA games the entire year.. ( look at all those missed tv figures they could be getting

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
After the off season we've had the NRL ratings are actually very good. I fully expected a drop of up to 20% but it hasn't happened. They are down a little but when Kayo is factored in they would be level with last year or maybe a little in front.
The AFL ratings have improved somewhat but that is compared to last years massive drop. I suspect they are still a long way short of 2017 numbers.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
You're missing the point. It's not that they are on FTA it's when. Thursday Friday are the highest rating games so that's why the Broncos are mainly played on these nights.leeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 12:30 pmthe game tonight in the NRL will go very close to that figure also.NlolRL wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 12:23 pmMelbourne's ratings dont virtually double when the pies or tigers play because they are only 1 of 10 clubs in Melbourne, not the only club. You're also missing the point that like the Broncos, Melbourne clubs are not on FTA every week either.
For the AFL:
RND 1 RIC V CARL, COLL V CATS
RND 2 COLL V RICH, SWANS V CROWS
RND 3 CROWS V CATS, MEL V ESS
RND 4 SWANS V MEL, COLL V DOGS
RND5 LIONS V COLL
RND6 RICH V MELB
RND 7 COLL V PORT
RND 8 SWANS V ESS
RND 9 EAGLES V MELB
RND 10 SWANS V COLL
RND 11 NORTH V RICH
RND 12 RICH V CATS
RND 13 CROWS V RICH, ESS V HAWTH
RND 14 EAGLES V ESS, SWANS V HAWTH
RND 15 ESS V GWS, CATS V CROWS
RND 16 HAWTH V COLL
RND 17 EAGLES V COLL
RND 18 CROWS V ESS
RND 19 COLL V RICH
RND 20 NORTH V HAWTH
RND 21 GWS V HAWTH
RND 22 MELB V SWANS
So Richmond 7 times, Collingwood 9 times, Cats 3 times, Swans 5 times, Crows 5 times, Essendon 4 times, Hawthorn 5 times, Eagles 3 times.
No team has more than 9 Thursday for Friday games.
The Broncos have 14!!
