If the NRL can't rate outside of it's home states with it's biggest mid year event, what chance has it got?

Didnt Adelaide and Perth get delayed coverage?
Those are great numbers, over 4M nationwide.
Wonder how much Collingwood and Carlton got? :?

so

how bout we apply those sentiments to the Swans
Lions ... Suns , & soon to be GWS

cos those Origin ratings would equal 5 to 6 games up our way for all of them ( 15 games for GWS  :_<> )

Its a fair point ... what chance do these teams have ?
what chance indeed

A better chance than any NRL team in Adelaide or Perth would have, that's for certain!!

And I never said Brisbane wouldn't win the ratings. I figured they might, which is why I said "probably" because it wasn't a guarantee - unlike Sydney which was.

it wasn't a guarantee 8-[ :?>

900K veiwers ... it peaked at over a Million
& Brisbane is half the size of Melbourne

do you know what sort of ratings share that is for a city the size of Brisbane
its astronomical .... the meer suggestion Origin would only probably win the ratings in Brissie .. & it wasn't a guarantee to
is probably the stupidest thing you've posted in here

& let me tell ya .. thats saying something :(/

Raiderdave, please don't talk about matters that are beyond your comprehension. Trying to put over State of Origin ratings as indicative of the strength of the NRL is a foolish and unsustainable argument. The fact that they were beaten so convincingly in Melbourne by a cooking program is rather more indicative.
we have a code ( NRL & a rep program your lot would die for )

you have a comp ( & umm .. thats it 8-[ )

we win

Hammerhead is right. You don't understand. And I think you don't want to.
oh the crowds
oh the crowds

in Melbourne ... thats it
one sad little city in the corner of a country in the corner of the earth

AFL can't pull a decent crowd .. anywhere else these days
not in Australia
not anywhere

if it wasn't for deranged victorians
the sport would be long gone

As already proven, the Swans, the Lions and the Suns all have better average attendances than all bar two of the NRL clubs - at their home venue. The sport has been around a lot longer than thugby league and it will still be around in the future for one very simple reason.

It is the ONLY sport that is truly Australian. Thugby is imported from Pommieland.

Stop telling untruths, Raider. AFL is in the top five attended sports in the world and that's a fact.

ah no
it was invented before federation
in Victoria
so
its a Victorian game

half the country wants nothing to do with it

Englands version of rugby league was called northern union rules in 1895

the Word " Rugby League " was first used in Australia in 1908
the English didn't start calling it Rugby League til 1922

these 2 games had a lot of differences til the rules were aligned in 1922
so we invented our version ...

That's what I want the link for.

For the record, I consider Australia to be whole country even back to 1788. If you don't want to agree that's up to you.

I'll cut you a break this time
