Which code has more passionate fans?

Is there any doubt it's the AFL? One needs just look at the massive crowds that travel the country to support their teams, membership numbers, sponsorship deals and tv ratings. Surely we are all in agreement that AFL fans are much more passionate about their beloved game when compared with NRL fans, Rugby fans or even Soccer fans.

I'd have to say yes on this one.

Who would be passionate about a bunch of men pouncing about in tight fitting shorts playing force-backs! - titilated maybe

Compare apples with Apples and it's very obvious who has the best Ratings.

Membership has only became an issue in RL over the last few years and already we've caught up to some of your clubs at the lower end.

That was borderline slander, Pussycat. Be very careful outside of the sticky attack threads, before insinuating that AFL football is for homosexuals. That's your only warning.

Ratings do not equal passion. Attendances do. And membership.

How so, I live 200miles from the Football Stadium, I don't get to the ground much but I, & most people that know me think that I'm passionate. And there would be plenty in a similar sitution to myself.

Which NRL club are you a member of? And do you support the local competition with your attendance?

Is calling Rugby League thugby then also under your slander ruling? I think it would have to be close if pussycats insinuation that AFL is gay is. Perhaps you'll need to think over this one eh tlpg?

You always get silence from so called Rugby League fans when that question is asked. Passionate lot eh

Exactly! Funnily enough, I'm not an AFL club or league member. But I go to local games all over the place, not just locally. I mean here's the list of clubs I visited in April and May this year;

Ferntree Gully
St.Albans
Leopold
Horsham
Nyora
Cranbourne
Casey
Buninyong
(with one weekend stuck at home with illness)

I personally don't care either way if one calls the AFL or NRL this or that in Fight Club. That said Raider, I note you haven't provided any feedback on the developing guidelines for Fight Club. No use whinging about one rule for them and one rule for you without relevance to the actual thread topic, if you don't provide feedback - in the appropriate thread that has been opened for that very purpose. I'm sure everyone would be more than happy to look at your ideas and if we get community consensus put them in place.

That said and back on topic, Rugby League fans really are a disappointing, hard to motivate lot when it comes to showing their passion for the teams. NRL crowds are in many cases boardering on A-League sizes. Why aren't they motivated in showing their passion to attend games you might be asking yourself? I've no doubt its the rubbish on and off the field that is the decisive factor.

Just pointing out that I have NOT used that T word since the new guidelines were first suggested - except where it's allowed (on the Attack the NRL thread).

On topic - completely agree with Beau.

Edit - Raider, put that feedback on the announcement thread.
