What a feat for the AFL and Australia to have our truly national indigenous footy code ranked No.4 in terms of crowds on the world football league rankings. Who would have thought the AFL in a country of 20 million would be just as big in terms of crowds as the English Premier League soccer?

Rugby league with its 14,000 odd average crowds will never be able to match the passion demonstrated by the millions of AFL fans who support their clubs week in week out during the footy season.

As for the ARU and its domestic competition, well, I couldn't find them on the list.

That is true MG, but you could also add that netball has recently posted bigger crowds than the NBL and cricket as well.
