The Queenslanders have certainly been voting with their feet this year, and the Titans have been a tremendous success already...

Last week alone you had 52k at the Origin, 48k for the SE Qld derby, and a sellout in Townsville last weekend...

It appears that this weekend's Cowboys game has sold out already...

Its hard to deny their hunger for more footy, and the fact that QLD is a growing state which will take over as the 2nd biggest state from Victoria in 20-25 years...

Bring it on I say... :D

RUGBY league's growth in Queensland has the game's top administrator touting the likelihood of a fourth team in the Sunshine State.

NRL chief executive David Gallop last night revealed he had inspected the growth suburbs in Brisbane's southwest corridor extending to Ipswich and it remained "in the back of my mind" as a location for an NRL club.
The NRL's Brisbane, Gold Coast and North Queensland clubs rank first, second and third in home crowd figures in this year's competition, with all in the battle to make the finals next month.

Mr Gallop told The Courier-Mail that population growth and public support for league in Queensland meant the NRL might need to plan for a fourth team in the state within 10 years.

Top of Mr Gallop's list for expansion are the suburbs in southwest Brisbane including growth suburbs Springfield and Ripley, extending to Ipswich.

"One day another team in that growth corridor west of Brisbane would have to be a possibility," Mr Gallop said.

"There's huge growth in the west of Brisbane out towards Ipswich.

"Not within five years – closer to 10 – before you'd need to start planning for it. But it's a possibility at some point.

"The people keep turning up to our games in Queensland, whether it's club footy or rep footy."

Tonight's Cowboys-Broncos match in Townsville was yesterday announced as a sellout of all 26,500 tickets.

It follows a crowd of 48,621 for Suncorp Stadium's Broncos-Titans game last Friday night – two days after a sellout crowd of 52,469 for State of Origin III at Suncorp Stadium

ohh off course they have the fools yes NSW have a number of clubs especially in Sydney but at the end of the day are they going to let Qld take over ,,,

Im sure the AFL would let an interstate club take over like that considering Victoria is a the heart and soul of AFL pfft

three teams are enough and TITANS are yet to prove themselves

You obviously missed this part ...
The NRL's Brisbane, Gold Coast and North Queensland clubs rank first, second and third in home crowd figures in this year's competition
Three teams aren't enough in my opinion...

it is amples enough IMO give them another team and their stats will not counteract their NSW neighbours as it still irks me that we lost many traditional clubs at the expense of interstates inclusion ...

As for Manly for what they did to North Sydney should not of been allowed in the competition while SOuths had to fight for their place :x

Since the Wing signing I have lost a lot of faith in the wabbits. I question why they would sign a has been like him who struggles with the rooters. I fear the fact that Souths will become the "glamour" club of the comp who are only interested in how they look superficially and aren't concerned enough about how they go on the field both now and in the future. My major fear is that they start chasing Anasta as a ploy to get old souths players back on board with the club. I sadly, will have to bouycot the club for good if this happens which means me not putting my hard earned in the clubs wallet anymore when I have a press, punt etc.

Is this telling us that there isn't nothing else to do in queensland ?

Qld won't take over in number of teams, it will just even it out a bit.

League is a business and if a food line doesn't sell they remove it or modify it to what people want. Unfortunately thats the way it is heading.
