I have said here before that Souths should be kicked out....

They got beat 66-0 today... and they have won one game all year...

How many people would you expect to show up for that??

How many did the Swans get when they won one game in a year??

5000 a game wasn't it??

Are you serious with the 66-0 scoreline today.

Oh and Swans average was much better than Souths even with consecutive losses and 3 wooden spoons in a row.

The swans averaged 9,000 between 1992 to 1994..

http://stats.rleague.com/afl/crowds/1993.html

This included a crowd of 5,728 against Fitzroy in 1994.. ( lower than Souths crowd today..)

Even back in 1992 to 1994 the Ca Swannies still had more crowds at their games than the National Rapist League scum!

:o Willis that is fascinating information there. Beaussie has told me and i actually believed him that swans averages were still around the 20000 mark even at their worst period.

Beaussie I really wish you wouldnt lie to me so much about facts and figures relating to the swans and the afl in general and then also about the nrl. You are giving me false and misleading information so often. From now on I'm listening to willis and taking his points on board instead of yours.

A man can only cry wolf so often...

I don't lie. Sure I've misinterpreted information in the past but that was an honest mistake.

Meanwhile from the link you provided Willis, the Swans average home crowd in 1993 despite 3 wooden spoons in a row was 9,423.

Compares favourably with the crowd average for the Melbourne Storm who are on top of the NRL ladder yet can only average 9,046 this season.

http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/melbourne.html

I guess from those crowd averages we can all agree that the AFL has been much more successful in NSW when compared to the NRL in VIC.

Yes, of course the Swans have been more successful than the Storm.

But consider these facts...

1. Aussie Rules has been played for 120 years in Sydney

2.Games of AFL have been shown live in Sydney for 30 years.

3. The AFL would have spent many more tens of millions on promotion in Sydney then the News Ltd/ NRL has in Melbourne.

4. The Storm's home ground is the worst in the NRL, as opposed to the SCG, one of the best stadiums in Australia

5. Despite all these advantages AFL has had, there is still very much a "who cares" attitude amongst the over whelming majority of Sydney people to the Swans, as evidenced by TV ratings, other than the usual band wagonners getting on board for Grand Final week...

6.The future for the Storm and Rugby League in Melbourne is looking a hell of a lot
better today then what it did a couple of years Ok... Even a one-eyed so and so like you might finally acknowledge that... :D

I still cant believe the swans 93 average crowds. Beaussie had me believing 9000 odd was their worst crowd. I have to admit its all upset me quite alot that a good mate could lie so blatantly. :?

Whatever KE.

Fact remains the AFL has been 1000 times more successful in the expansion stakes when compared with the NRL.

8,000 average for the top of the table Melbourne Storm. Even with 3 consecutive wooden spoons the Swans/AFL never had such piss poor crowds. FACT!!!! :_<>

Give up on Melbourne NRL. Seriously. #-o

I think as a team melbourne have done quite well for themselves. The crowds will come in time. They are dealing with a much more oneeyed culture in melbourne and have still managed to succeed on the field whereas the swans have come to a higher and more aussie rules friendly population.

Or perhaps sydney just has a higher bandwagon population than melbourne?
