it proves with Monday through to Sunday Scheduling you will get higher figures than the norm of More day Games.

the AFL Schedule right now could no get better from a TV point of view> its a gift from the AFL to the broadcasters.
so you think the rise in STV average isnt the result of games being shown on their own?
the main two reasons are Prime time scheduling and lock down.

You were saying early in the peice that lockdown was adversely impacting the NRL ratings....

And how many times have we heard that prime time doesn’t generate better ratings when discussing the grand finals .... because there are also better options. You guys just make things up and change your mind to suit your arguements.

Fred we have said the same thing all along .Club games are not Grand Finals. Everybody who wants to watch the grand Final, day or night will make a special effort to watch. However person x , someone with little interest might prefer to watch the GF when faced with an Elvis movie on one channel and Bonanza reruns on another However if that same person can watch 60 minutes or a tom cruise movie things are more likely to be different.

Clubs games attract devoted fans (lock down may be different). Grand Finals attract plenty of viewers who would be lucky to watch another game all year.

Another thing . More people go to pubs and clubs of a night and only households are counted in the ratings.

Another smashing win for the AFL last night. When was the last time the NRL rated over 1 mil?
When was the last time the NRL had over 1 million for a game?

when crowds were permitted, and it effected it massively.
at the start of outbreak when it was all new...
Canterbury v Parra was sold out but only 20k turned up..

PTV isnt available to the majority of Australians.

The point of showing programs in prime time is because there are more people home. Yes, those who really want to watch a program will still watch in the day time. But fringe viewer who are home and looking for something to watch are home in the evening. This is the audience which is captured by primetime scheduling. This is why the Australian open, the test and T20 cricket, the NRL, the ARU, the soccer, and most other sports aim for prime time.

It isnt hard to understand, really
