Your answer is NO ....
My comment still stands.
ASHES 49k is a sell out>
Yeah- I know for cricket it holds more at the gabba than for footy and was wondering if same for SCG.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 12:27 pmCricket also losses seating due to Sight screens at each end.
makes the 49k look even better.
aye Fred, do you know why for Cricket it holds more than AFL .. (im struggling to understand why?)Fred wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 2:48 pmYeah- I know for cricket it holds more at the gabba than for footy and was wondering if same for SCG.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 12:27 pmCricket also losses seating due to Sight screens at each end.

as Cricket generally loses 2k to 3k just in Site Screens alone
to answer your question regard's to SCG
it seems to be>> SCG Cricket games always get much higher than AFL games.
even when the Swans or the AFL announce a sell out.
could be right, i think both do it.. like a Event area (Bundaberg VIP zone for example)Fred wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:17 amNot sure really - I think it had something to do with sponsor areas - maybe i should double checkleeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 4:05 pmaye Fred, do you know why for Cricket it holds more than AFL .. mixed messages - the AI google thing gives one figure and when you go to the site it links to it gives another (AI and Chat GPT are so often wrong). So the AFL site has
Capacity: 39,202
Address: Vulture Street, Woolloongabba, QLD 4105
Ground dimensions: 156m x 138m
Ticket agent: Ticketmaster
total capacity id 42000 according to Wiki.
The AI has cricket at 36000. Although I don't fully trust this as gives two figures. around 36500 - so I may stand corrected - it seems pretty much the same.
