So AFL is way ahead of the nrl? Would it be that games are spread out over the week more thus less overlap, contribute to this? More close to like by like?
lol no
more FTA games that is why... More reach more higher figures..
but this does not always mean more money.
fox would pay a higher price for Exclusive rights.
(example Big Bash)
fox paid a higher amount to get exclusive games (which will only rate around 250k)
but if game is on FTA (Big Bash) Avg was like 800k on channel 7
We have more FTA games per round except the last 4 rounds where the NRL have 4 per round. Plus the NRL have more rounds. In the end the number of FTA games is fairly close each year.
You have 4, mostly 5 FTA each week We have just 3 a week this year. Your 5th FTA game, the one you don't like mention got you an extra 500k last week.
80 is close to 60

I was referring to last year given we don't know this year's scheduling going forward. Plus you also forget the AFL is shown on 7 mate in perth and often in Adelaide, plus Perth gat prime time games at 5.30pm on week days.
The FTA advantage is minimal
Great figures on Kayo for the AFL too

We had a few games without Kayo that got similar to that . Wow! just imagine what they would have got with Kayo.

dont forget Nine willingly sold saturday nights to Fox.
And Ch9. originally paid around $900m.
If the AFL want to have a PTV carrier in the future they might need to make a few compromises also.

i dont think anyone doubts they wont have a ptv carrier in the future I
I think your probably right. How much the PTV provider is prepared to pay the AFL that is the real question.

I dont think we will have too much trouble, we do have 4 of the highest rating games exclusive.
And I dont think our ratings are that far down, at this time last year we would had an extra 4 or 5 FTA games

you have 3 standout games that we dont. You lose every final and just about every other FTA game

Exclusive access to 4 of the top 5 programs, Wow! Were not going to have much trouble. And if we did, we can always sell them off at a reduced price like others have done.

We win almost every FTA game for the entire year. You only get a sniff due to foxtel scheduling

get the fuck out of here with your bullshit. The AFL had 17 games reach an audience of a million last year. during the H&A season. The NRL had 2.
Except it's not BS Wookster my friend. You might recall RL is a 3 tiered sport. We do not rely solely on our domestic comp.
So at the end of the year we all know who the winner is!!!!
Hope this helps.
