I think resorting to price per minute is a bit desperate to be honest. But to be honest ... I'm just s cursory observer and it doesn't really bother me. AFL still the biggest and best by a mile ... in my opinion

Over 1.1m were watching the Extra Time (that's just Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth).
Amazing, considering late at night (after 10:30pm) and two of the least followed teams, certainly in Melbourne.
Extra Time had over 2m viewers watching during 1min (peak: Seven national + Foxtel).

the NRL have lacked the real big Sydney Derby games in finals for the last 10 years at least..
I can only really recall 3 massive Games that were huge>>>> that all had big crowds and HUGE tv figures..
Canterbury v Parra (PRE LIM 2009)
ST GEORGE v Tigers (PRE LIM 2010)
Souths v Roosters (PRE LIM 2014)

last years finals series the NRL was smashed during semi final and prelim final weekw.
Though we have won 2 of the last 3 Grand Finals. And if GWS made the GF last year it would have been 3 in a row.

How often do you see a show that is on in the afternoon on the top rating shows for the week?
Keep the denial up!

Seven's AFL reached over 5m people, over the four finals
WOW!
(SOURCE: Seven. 5 city metro + regional, based on every viewer who tuned-in for at least 5 consecutive minutes).

Lol talk about denial
It's the biggest event in the fumble universe .
Anyone who wants to watch will
Doesn't matter if it's arvo or in prime time .
& just like last time & the time before that when the sat arvo excuses are trotted out(people out shopping ...or at work etc ..) it's laughable .
If you want to watch..you'll go shopping some other time
You want to watch ...you'll swap shifts at work with someone who is not into sport .
Simple fact...if you want to watch.......you will
But but but but but but
Sat arvo
Lol
No competition
No top rating shows to compete against

So how do you explain the fact both NRL and AFLs games shown in prime time get better ratings than the games shown during the day?

I pretty sure they don't count Pubs and clubs in the rating figures - just house holds. There would be thousands-that would watch the GF from pubs and night clubs, all working against a night time GF.
