Well folks one thing is un-arguable, incontrovertible, plain truth: Rugby League is the most popular sport on Australian TV in 2019..
Our dear AFL friends will argue against this truth. Such words as isolation, scheduling, Fwiday night, but, but, but will be heard echoing out of their vacuous mouths.
Who cares?????? The truth is the truth. Facts are facts. The hollow schreeching and whining of ....ummmmmm .....some folk is irrelevant albeit it will continue like an abscess tooth throbbing in the background lololol!!!!!!!
Well done Rugby League. Well done Rugby League folk in supporting our great game in the good days, the bad days and everything in between. Some other....ummmm........folk ........could learn from the resilience, temperament and intelligence of the Rugby League community.
Bring on 2020!!!!!!!

Looked at the championship ratings in the UK for RL (second division) and they are rating higher than the A League out here and more than near all the Aussie Super Rugby Union ratings too lol.
Hey clipper (from the roar) stick that up ya lying arse, dickhead!

NRL GF: 2.641M. Reasonably low but with one regional team, no one from Qld and Sydney's least supported club not entirely unexpected. It was a record low Brisbane number but Melbourne was good with 320K.
The bottom line is Rugby League once again has 4 of the 5 most watched programs on TV in 2019. Well and truly consolidating it's position as the most watched sport in Australia.
Well done RL. Well done RL supporters. No.1 again!!!!!!

Reportedly both the NRL and AFL tv GF ratings were the lowest since the ratings system was introduced.
This is consistent with viewing patterns overall which have been slowly dropping year on year on traditional sources. In fact RL has actually defied this pattern overall whilst the AFL plummeted last year before making something of a comeback earlier in the season before falling off a cliff again.
This is the way traditional tv viewing is going. It is not confined to sport.
