ch 7 gets 4 games a week ... X 3 hrs of advertising per game
so 12 hrs ... X 23 weeks
so.. 276 hrs a year for 80 Million dollars

ch 9 gets .. 3 games a week ... X 2 hrs worth of advertising per game
so ... 6 hrs a week ... X 26 weeks
156 hrs .. for 90 million

almost half the hours broadcast
for more money

NRL.... most valuable sporting commodity on Aust TV
So no mention of Fox Footy anywhere? You sad, deluded soul
yeah, pretty funny. CH9 control their schedule and have exclusive rights to 3 games, yet pay barely more!

ch7 need to share every game with foxtel and are told what to show when. The AFL control their game. Ch9 control the NRL.

It's a classic. It' like a wizard of aus pantomime. Young dorothy(David Smith) lost in strange land holding the hand of the brainless, heartless and cowardly Following the cash brick road to the big headed holographic non existent wizard(grant and the commission). The whole time running towards utopia while being sabotaged by the wicked witch of channel 9(gyngell).What will we laugh at when it's all over.

glad you asked

lets just say that fox paid 650 mill for 5 games of exclusive flogball .. ( they didn't as they also got 4 simulcast with 7)
but for this exercise we'll be kind .. & say its just for their exclusive pay component

VFL
5 games .. or 15 hrs a week X 23 rnds
so thats 345 hrs ... for 130 Million
37K an hour for this sport ....

fox paid 575 Mill for the NRL
5 games
so thats 10 hrs a week for 26 weeks
260 hrs for 115 Million
45K an hour for this sport ...
we win in a pure apples v apples comparison
but of course .... fox probably paid another 100 Million to cover simulcast the other 4 games a week with 7.. putting the value per hour for the VFL down to
about 32K an hour

a belting for the victorian game ... on pay ... by the NRL

Dollars per minute

Still no word on 7 paying less for the rights because their games will be shown on Fox Footy. 7 would have paid in excess of $500 million if Foxtel wasn't showing every game live.

What don't you understand Forrest. The AFL deal was balanced I get to watch my club often without fox what about you and they still got more. You can make up these numbers as much as you like but the reality is you sold your soul to get close. Look what nine is doing to your club what a joke and you still think it's a good deal. What a,weak minded brain washed fool you are Dave. Stand up for your club Dave.Rally the members you could fill at least two buses you could call it the 5000 man march. Ahhhh, I see the issue.

The AFL went into their TV rights negotiations with 3 main aims:
1. To get as much money for the game as possible
2. To get the best coverage of the game as possible in all states
3. To control the TV schedule to benefit all teams and fans

The NRL must have gone into their TV rights negotiations with 1 main aim: to get the most money PER GAME as possible irrespective of how few games they sell and how much less money they get than the AFL. Oh and control of the schedule isn't necessary.

Dumbarses!!!

Dollars per minute
we were told by you lot for 18 months ... that we couldn't get the same money.. simply because our game cannot bring as much advertising $$ to the broadcasters .. because our game goes for an hour less
is this now not the case spewie ? :-k
I mean.. what happend ?
how did we manage this 8-[ ?
Still no word on 7 paying less for the rights because their games will be shown on Fox Footy.
can you read d head
7 would have paid more to have their games exclusive ... but then fox would have paid less

the overall deals combined still ... still read like a horror story forthe VFL when put up against ours

but Dave, we were told for months the regional ratings put the NRL well ahead, and the advertising dollars in regional NSW and QLD is worth more than Perth and Adelaide combined.

What happened? :-k

You poor weak minded man. Have you been kept in a hole with a box on your head for a couple of years. Your like the abused captive that learns to love his master. You got less but gave up so much more. Look what they have done with your beloved raiders. In time among the people in the real world you'll learn to see the abuse you have recieved lol

anyone got that piece of rubbish that bearsy used to have posted on the ratings section of this forum
he proudly displayed like it was the final say on who's more valuable to TV

lots of talk about reach ...
how an average audience figure of 250K in each code represented more value to broadcasters when it was a game of VFL , because the reach factor
750K for the VFL .. & only 500K for the NRL

it goes for longer ... so it HAS to be worth more
also we're shown in 5 capitals to the NRL's 2... these 2 things comined & its a knockout to the VFL
forget the regionals this twat said

:-k

how'd all this pan out lads ?

North raised more than 30 million in revenue without gaming and made a million dollars profit Dave. Imagine that Dave. Gaming venues are all losing income Dave and with their demise goes the clubs that they fund. Dark days ahead for pokies addicted NRL. AFL have already told their clubs to become profitable without pokies they can smell what the community is cooking. So can the NRL that's why Gould and nine got fined for commenting during a game. Does the nrl have no shame.
