The ridiculous QSAC idea is dead, leaving only a redeveloped Gabba or a new Victoria Park or North Harbour stadium proposals. Cant see the North Harbour stadium proposal getting up to be honest. Way too extravagant and pricey.
Anyway, I came across the following Youtube video that provides some good insights into the LNP thinking and politics in QLD.

The other captain never right about anything ... aka kiss of death ... has assured its happening
for the 50th time , the Gabba cannot be redeveloped into anything bigger then it is now , therefore it can't be used for the olympics
the other 2 projects would cost up to 7 billion dollars , green space removed , schools torn down.
QLD cannot afford that..
Labors plan for QSAC is dead yes , a new one for that site , namely a brand new stadium for 75% less of the cost then the fairytale amounts for the other plans will be what they go with.

When you say 7 billion your are referring to the Victoria Park precinct proposal - the Victoria park stadium proposal (which is different) is not budgeted anywhere near that. The 7.1 or thereabouts budget is for all stadia /venues associated with the Olympics - which includes federal funding.
Okay - seems that 6 billion is for a whole of precinct proposal put forth by Arcadis - different to the one in Quirks review - includes much more than a stadium
"Quirk estimated the cost of a stadium at Victoria Park to be $3.4 billion. Arcadis has estimated the cost of a stadium, a new arena, a permanent aquatic centre and a deck over the Inner City Bypass to be a combined $6 billion."
so we need to be careful citing figures and make sure we are quoting the right ones okay.
Now that is clear -
For the extra money I do like to Arcadis proposal - a good legacy to be left behind - will be unlikely though to get up
But the 3.4 billion stadium design - could be a goer.

irrelevant whether its the stadium or the precint ....
thats what it will cost fwed & thats waaaaayyyyy too much , most of the cost is non stadium meaning its the location thats the problem
so we don't build there

It’s two different proposals - the more expensive precinct is a late comer - the stadium proposal is the 3 bil plus one and the main ons being considered.
