I expected the SUNS to say they had lost millions.. but they did not and made it look like they are turning a profit.

Brisbane Lions' $23.6 million distribution and, with match receipts removed, about $4 million more than the $19 million distribution St Kilda received in 2018.
The AFL revealed on Tuesday it distributed $307.2 million across the 18 clubs in 2018 with the ASIC figures showing the two expansion clubs commanding 14 per cent of the total.
Matthews defended the AFL's investment and pointed again to the value two extra teams contribute to the broadcast deal that attracts $418 million annually.

Adelaide Crows declare a profit of $1,506,002 on revenue of $56,060,913. This includes $21.4m from memberships and $18m from sponsorship.

That’s around 5 or 6 nrlol clubs worth

But if you have a leagues club backing you ..you are in a far far far better position than a club who doesn't have the backing of a leagues club ..or a wealthy owner . I can't make it any simpler than that .

This is the issue, you carry on about how NRL clubs arent really worse off because their income is also provided by leagues clubs, but if that doesnt translate to more revenue for the NRL club to spend the AFL clubs are well ahead
