how does it compromise the comp. Theyve asked all teams to reduce congestion, not throw gamesAFLcrap1 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 3:26 pmIt's called compromising the comp .

Re: Womens R.L to rival AFL
Really
They are telling all teams how to play .
They have virtually overridden any coachs tactics
No matter how boring a style it is..a coach is usually trying to win .
How anyone can defend this absolute farce is laughable .
Let's look at RL
If the NRL said we need more tries so you can only have so many players defending on one side of the field ..it would be laughable .

Re: Womens R.L to rival AFL
the coaches are applying strategies which require a high level of skill to a comp with base level skills. If they were asking only a few teams to change it'd be rigged, but that's not the case. I suspect if they dont listen we may see rule changesAFLcrap1 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 7:10 pmReally

Re: Womens R.L to rival AFL
WAFL>>Concern.
The concern comes after a significant 59% drop in national ratings for the Seven Network for round one of the 2018 competition compared to the inaugural 2017 season. What is encouraging though, is the comparative crowd numbers between the two seasons, with 50,350 attendees across the first four matches of the 2017 season compared to 44,572 for the same fixture in 2018, a drop of only 11%.
What seems unspoken here is the impact a defensive model of play is having on the Seven Network’s advertising model, which airs advertisements after each goal scored. Fewer goals scored means less revenue for the free-to-air broadcaster (as opposed to Fox Footy’s model of no ad breaks during play)
IS it still free to enter WAFL matches.. ???

At least they pay to get in .
You were the one having a wank over the AFLW average being bigger than the nrl average
Yet ignored the fact that it's free entry into AFLW corruption ball .

Re: Womens R.L to rival AFL
The rules of AFLW may need to be modified as the season progresses in order to appease the armchair viewer. Woman's football needs to rate well to ensure future support and growth, it cannot afford viewing numbers to taper off so to fine tune and adjust a few small points is acceptable.
Woman's RL is yet to prove itself as a viable competition that will generate reasonable TV ratings, first game fanfare aside ! , time will tell, some tampering with the rules perhaps.

Re: Womens R.L to rival AFL
NRL women’s competition undermined by lack of interest from non-Sydney clubs
The Courier-Mail confirmed at least five teams will not submit for licences, including the Cowboys, Titans and Raiders, while the Storm are “unlikely”.
All four clubs sit outside the New South Wales bubble, with the Broncos the only non-Sydney team to confirm they will put in a bid by the end of the week.
side from the Broncos, only the Sharks, Rabbitohs, Roosters and Dragons were able to confirm they will put in bids, while Manly and Penrith ruled themselves out.

Re: Womens R.L to rival AFL
Should be a great match. I thought it was going to be at Leichhardt which would have been fantastic with the crowd right on top of the players. Having said that North Sydney oval is a great old ground.
I suspect this game will be the highest rating ladies sport of any code on TV in 2018. Which will immediately propel ladies RL to the top of the tree.
