Manly - would be hard to get rid of as they are they only team in the northen part of Sydney.

well they are the stronger of the two

ST GEORGE ARE BASED IN KORARAH & surrounding suburbs
but have since merged with ILLAWARRA (south Coast)

where Cronulla Sutherland are in between surrounded north and south.

ROOSTERS however its there dam fans which annoy everyone..

got a great stadium (its in the city) and still cannot pull a crowd.

but on the bright side have money to burn with the backers they got

Get rid of all the small and struggling NRL sides in Sydney first.

Well they all are running at financial losses & have small fan bases

Whereas the nrl really need a team in Perth and that just has to happen. Should have been done years ago. Again, however, they will have to do the ground work and realise that the team will be at such a hugh disadvantage that it will need a lot of ongoing support just to make it fair and viable. I think this is what the nrl have baulked at thus far ... there's a lot of work and a lot of risk ... and a lot of money to be put in. I think many in the nrl are happy to consolidate what they have. With AFL spreading and consolidating the nrl are faced with defending if you like whilst needing to grow. Problem is if they don't grow they will shrink eventually. Maybe there's some work going on we don't know of ... hope so... but this is the way to go. Perth is a must. The end goal of all this has to be another Melbourne team. When they can do that ... and I can't see it on the horizon , they will have made great inroads in expanding the game and combatting the AFL.

Putting a RL team in WA is not that simple! Union is more popular than league thanks to its large contingent of poms South Africans & kiwis. The local comps are mainly unions and only a few fields exist

The other main problem is that WA & Perth is different to rest of the country to when it comes to poke & gaming ownership! Out side of the casino you will not find a poker machine, there fore the chances of the NRL club setting up one of their big stupid mini casio sized league club won't be happening unless laws are changed


Then you have the time difference, the tossball folks whinge about the day light savings difference between Qld & NSW so the time difference in WA would only confuse them

True! The same could Be said for SA & or even a second team out of Brisbane

I'd imagine the biggest restraint that would face the NRl is the financial side of things & having the funds to do so

At the moment they have taken out a 50 million advance of the new broadest money already! So things at meathead head quarters ain't looking so financially great
