Tony Abbott who is the local member is promising an upgrade to the ground which is much needed.
They have secured the funding already.
The federal and state government's have agreed to a $20 million upgrade of Brookvale Oval, which will remain Manly's NRL home ground.
With 10m coming out of the NRL's centre of excellence fund currently standing at 40m and given to them by Mr Baird.

Only went by what was in the media .The_Wookie wrote:Your stadium claim is dubious at best.
1. Perth stadium and Adelaide Oval were going to be rebuilt regardless - both Subiaco and Football Park were old and decrepit and it had come down to either rebuilding them, significant upgrade costs or building a new stadium. Its worth noting that both builds were proposed as part of the soccer world cup bid.
2. MCG upgrades were for the Commonwealth Games in 2006.
3. SCG upgrades were primariy for Cricket, although the swans will benefit. See also Manuka and Bellerive Oval expenditures.
4. Metricon Stadium was a joint consideration with the Gold Coasts Commonwealth Games bid, for which it is the centrepiece.
Note that all the above stadiums are used my multiple sports, not just the AFL, and were preplanned for non AFL use or with the express purpose of attracting sports other than the AFL.
5. Minor upgrades at the Gabba were due in any case due to technolgy advancement.
6. Blacktown Oval is a joint facility with Cricket NSW, not just an AFL facility.
7. The Sydney Showgrounds are used by the BBL and occasionally even Rugby League...not to mention the RAS.
Kardinia Park is something of a different story, and any number of funds that have been spent on training facilities.
fuck off your bitter old jealous retarrrd spazza! there have been several threads about the money spent on stadiums! all it is is your stupid insecure fuck tarrrds of NRLOL fans crapping on about the AFL states getting stadiums built! first times in decades, they you lot jump up and down at thisAFLcrap1 wrote:Only went by what was in the media .The_Wookie wrote:Your stadium claim is dubious at best.
