Yep, and it seems to work a treat, thanks for the concept.

Btw, it wouldn't matter what sponsored or tiered comp it was, it's still Rugby League.

Straight back to the gimmick gimmick mantra ..

Suffer .

Our gimmick is bigger than your GF .

& guess what .
We have another coming up in 3 weeks that will have you fumblers sobbing. Stamping your feet & crying GIMMICK GIMMICK .

Same script every year
It just never loses its comedy appeal

Not as amusing as you people insisting that we are crying over something that you guys HAVE to have in order to get close to going over the AFL for ratings. Pat yourselves on the back for 91,000 truly. Crowds in excess of 80,000 arent unusual for the AFL - crossed that mark four times already this year. Not to mention the cricket, and upcoming soccer events. But hey, its a sporting revolution right?
Well said Wookie

It's only 3 games with no competition - that is billed as an event - I wouldn't get too carried away!

I am not referring to SOO

I am referring the NRL comp

Leagueiscrap is saying that the NRL comp is a nothing comp

which highly untrue.

it matches it with the AFL a lot of aspects.

Only in TV ratings - not in average crowds, sponsorship, total revenue, club revenue etc etc - the trouble for RL is that the success of SOO doesn't translate into interest in club football rather it diminishes it. Wouldn't you agree?

With its current Setup.. Yes it does.
But this will change.. "it needs to change" just not until the new rights deal.

Crowds.. forget it NRL will never catch the AFL..
All rugby codes around the world, the crowds are average...

Sponsor dollars are climbing

So given last night's crowd was basically full of people wearing either blue or maroon, how many actual victorians do people think were there? I know I watched the game out of interest but I have no allegiances to either side, certainly not enough to wear their colours.

It was really the bottom tear which had
the Maroons Army and the Blues Army.

The reports say around 25k Came from NSW AND QLD
so that would leave 65k Victorians attending the game.
I suppose the Swans get 30-35k to their regular games, so 65k Victorians for the biggest RL game of the year isnt unreasonable
