Not sure what you classify as a fan. Is it someone who occasionally watches NRL on TV? That sounds about right for RL

Simple fact is the swans get 1/4 the NRL's ratings for any given home and away game. For games that dont involve the swans the AFL still gets near 50k in Sydney when FTA and fox are combined. This is around 1/7 the NRLs ratings, and this is from 2 non-sydney AFL teams. How does that fit into your little equation where only less than 1/3rd of a games viewers are fans of a different team? Doesnt quite add up does it.

So lets recap: even without the swans playing, 1 in 8 sports fan from Sydney chooses to watch the AFL over NRL
