lets get this straight.
NRL TV DEAL $1.025 billion, excluding N.Z Tv rights Radio mobile and online deals = to 200million Approx
brings it to the same AFL deal
AFL DEAL $1.253 Billion Includes everything.
BUT BUT BUT the AFL has 2 extra teams..
Gyngell has said another qld team will bring a further 100million to the rights
and if we ad a further team either from perth or N.Z
will increase further...
being on Par with 18 teams as the AFL have.
SO in reality the NRL Deal is Far Superior.

=D>

It'll be the Perth team that will add the $100 million. No Perth team and the Brisbane team will make very little difference in a saturated market.

That's not true at all..
another qld team in qld
will allow broadasters great ratings for the qld team
David Gyngel has all ready stated this.
as it is a Ratings Winner..

For advertisers I see no difference between Perth and Brisbane. The cities are the same size generally. In Perth you are going from zero to a presence. With Brisbane, all you'll do is run into the same issues as the AFL is with Sydney. Yes I know, there's a difference between heartland and non-heartland, but the Broncos have just as much control over Brisbane dollars for rugby league as the Swans have over Sydney dollars for Aussie rules. The second Brisbane team has to be an established team, like Port Adelaide were in Adelaide as an example.

There both great opportunities in both cities..
But Brisbane is guaranteed to have for example 250k + ratings in the city a lone for Friday nights when the new team is playing.
which the Tv Networks will love for FTA Friday night Saturday (if this happens ) and sunday.
In Perth you are looking at a lot lower then this figure.
A Brisbane Derby is a certainty to be a hit. with the Brisbane public, a cross town rivalry works in all sports.
from AFL to the big bash to the soccer.
And new Market with Perth can only be good, but will take time...
I agree with Wookie the Time zone difference is huge!
Perth will work well at Nib Stadium crowds would be great.
Interesting to see the Tv Figures..
Its a Tick from Me

Two games a year does not make an all round success. The new Brisbane team has to draw outside of those two games. Remember that the Broncos have the highest average attendance of any NRL club. It will drop with the new club - if Brisbane gets behind it. Are there many Broncos haters in Brisbane? I'm not sure there are. It's a concern.
I agree with regards to Perth.
