no idea what you mean by that but on to the point of you talking about attendances and sell outs, you should be thankful that the wanderers came aroundParraEelsNRL wrote:Fmd, another pretend sokkah fan.
the only reason why pirtek is getting an upgrade from the govt is because of them.

Re: Buddy already drawing big crowds in Sydney
Why, aren't Parra averaging more than the soccer team even though they were double wooden spooners while the soccer mob were fighting for grand finals?
Hahahahahahaha, you fucking dumb idiot.
Parra smashes them on TV.
Parra has already had a bigger crowd at parra stadium this season than what the soccer club got all year.
Parra has played in front of over 50,000 this year after having two wooden spoons, the soccer club has never played in front of that many people, not even in their grand finals, yet they are bigger than the parramatta eels?
You sir, are a fucking moron.
Hey, didn't the west sydney soccer team when they first started have crowds as low as 4k after a few loses to begin with and then all of a sudden they got a few players and went on a winning streak that more or less is still going?
Hahahahaha, yet the eels win 2 games and their crowds average more straight away, fuck that must hurt all these soccer fans deep deep down, you know, knowing the truth

Parra got a crowd of 8,900 last year when they were double wooden spooners.
How many games have the wsw had below that crowd whilst they have been winning?

Re: Buddy already drawing big crowds in Sydney
the wanderers have never had crowds as low as 4k last season, you made that up, you're a very bad liar
their average was 14,860, highest home crowd at pirtek was 18,080, lowest was 11,892
their first 6 home games last season were all technical sell outs with public allocations being exhausted
the NSW govt had no interest whatsoever in giving pirtek any sort of upgrade apart from roofing to the end stands until the wanderers showed up. they were convinced building a new stadium in penrith or liverpool was the way to go - cue in the wanderers and they have jumped aboard the bandwagon.
i think the wanderers are doing mighty fine for being a club not even 3 years old. they outsold every western sydney based nrl team in merchandise sales in its first season, unheard of for a new club
there's no need to get so defensive about it, be happy that you get your bigger stadium because of them
also probably need to point out that the 2 sydney derbies in the a-league that were played at allianz were sell outs, if scheduling worked out the way the ffa wanted it to, sydney would of played the wanderers at anz during the playoffs.
not bad for a sport with supposedly no fans hmm?

parra regurarly get 9 k to their games, then when 20k show up one week, suddenly you think that many turn up every weekParraEelsNRL wrote:Parra got a crowd of 8,900 last year when they were double wooden spooners.

And sokkah boy, tell me, where are the wsw in front of the eels?
Thickheaded bandwagoner who doesn't look at the facts.

Re: Buddy already drawing big crowds in Sydney
I'm sorry, those 4k crowds could've been 5 or 6k, I don't care, they lost a couple of games at the start you drongo and their crowds started going the same way as all the other (sleeping giant teams) have been put in over the various years into Sydney and the surrounds.
This latest lot have done what, averaged a massive 12k and 15k, big fucking whoop.
15k and they are the biggest thing since sliced bread going up against a team that was getting run into the ground and still losing to it.
Yet they're bigger by your logic
I can't wait to see what happens to this soccer side when it has 3 years on the trot like the eels have just had, could you imagine comparing the teams then?
Naaaa, wouldn't be a fight would it seeing as the eels were still bigger whilst at their lowest ebb.

Re: Buddy already drawing big crowds in Sydney
lol the eels have had half a century to build something in that part of sydney only for a new 'sokkah' club to overtake them in less than 3 years
for the record i never said that WSW were bigger than the eels, but i did say that their success is easily comparable to what the eels have done since they've been around.
wsw had to cap their members at 16.5k because the stadium is too small, when it gets expanded(another thing that came from wsw's introduction) they'll have even more members
not even sure why you're so touchy about this subject, are you scared of their progress or something? seems to be a running thing going on here in terms of a lot of these nrl fans being afraid of the expansion potential of the AFL, i didn't even think the a-league would come into the conversation until i read your anger infused posts about the wanderers lol. must of hit a nerve
be happy that the govt is forking up the money for your stadium because of the wanderers, you had it your own way for 50 odd years and did nothing, let the new boys come in and take the reigns, things will improve surely
personally i have no doubt the wanderers have a higher ceiling as a club than any nrl side based in western sydney, but that's just my opinion based on their initial growth so far from crowds, sponsorship and revenue. who knows, maybe something crazy happens and they end up folding in 10 years time. but thats unlikely!

Re: Buddy already drawing big crowds in Sydney
The eels like any other team in history of any fucking sport you two spankers will struggle to get crowds when they play like fucking idiots.
Show me any team that continually loses yet sells out every game.
The troll in this place is as bad as ever, if I didn't think it, I'd swear a couple of these fuckers share the same skull.

it might be true that a lot of australian sports fans, maybe sports fans in general are fickle when it comes to resultsParraEelsNRL wrote:The eels like any other team in history of any fucking sport you two spankers will struggle to get crowds when they play like fucking idiots.

but i think what he was saying was that you had 50(or 70) years to build something. and when you put things into that kind of context, 14 or 15k average after 70 years of existence sounds really poor if i'm being honest, even if that was 17 or 18k. i mean look at some teams in the AFL that haven't won a trophy for years but are getting double that. i know it's apples and oranges but give the a-league 50 or 70 years and i think we'd do a better job than what a lot of nrl clubs have done(note, im not accusing all nrl clubs of failure, or any at all). Just that you shouldn't get so defensive and angry by being compared to a club that's only been around a couple years
i personally can't wait till my club starts winning and playing attractive football under our new manager, something we haven't done for the last 4 seasons and maybe our crowds which are currently stable at 18k, will improve to 20k+ for the upcoming season.
