About 220k down on last year. Sydney was down 265k for obvious reasons. Thats the penalty for playing a day grand final, you get far fewer occasional viewers.
2012 SEVEN’S AFL: GRAND FINAL: HAWTHORN V SYDNEY Seven 2,937,000 609,000 1,331,000 295,000 309,000 393,000
so about 750K regionals
seriously no one in Regional NSW or QLD would have given a shit with Free Ho's involvement.........
& we're at 3.475 to 3.5 Million odd ...... down 600K on 2012
currently the VFL GF sits ............. 4th ....well behind all 3 RL's State Of Origins
with SOO II attracting 3.875 Mill holding down the Bronze medal ATM
so
theres no medal for the fumbles n bumbles in 2013
wow fumblers ............. wow

:_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>
I was told your fumbling bumbling & missing ( & there was plenty of that yesterday ) GF
was the biggest game of footy in the land

> ... bar none .... every year
hmmmmmm
yet in 2013
its not the
biggest
or
the 2nd biggest
or 3rd
& quite probably after next sunday night
4th biggest either
in my best Pauline Hanson voice
please explain ?

:_<> :_<> :_<>

@MediaweekAUS: Sat TV ratings #AFLGF national (metro+reg) Seven 3,631,000 (national FTA share 80% Perth share 91%)
:
about 100K off I was
3.631 Million eh
tell me .............. did that get a medal in the ratings race this year ?
xman
hello
anyone there ?

>

:_<> :_<> :_<>

For non prime time ratings? 1st by the length of the straight,
first in the non prime time slot eh
lets see what you lot were up against
hmmmm
an infomercial station advertising ladies moustache removers ( spewies missus was quite interested in that I hear )
the mating habits of the giant dung beatle
Jamie Oilver made some bread
& a cartoon movie about cockroaches saving the planet
& you're happy you won that time slot

>
:_<> :_<>
fuck me
easily pleased or what

:_<> :_<> :_<>
500K less veiwers
&
5th place .... for this dying .. declining sport

massive growth
up slightly on the worst attended season in nearly 20 years
I mean .... your code still has less fans through the gate then it did in 2010 ..... with 22 more games
VFL memberships are a sham as I have proven
& its easy to claim increases in TV ratings when the VFL's pay ratings systems are a total fudge ....
if you have pay tv in the sthn states
you're counted as watching the same VFL game on both pay ..... &...... FTA

oh &....... we'll go just fine without the Storm next week cockhead ?
just fine

I don't think the nrl grand final will flop. It just can't flop in that time slot. It is the biggest code in Sydney and qld by a mile. Add on the prime time Sunday night slot, and although it is unpopular with fans, is great for ratings. You can't get a better spot. Add in sports loving Melbourne who generally tune into all major sporting events, especially when sitting home flicking channels on a Sunday night, then it should rate pretty well indeed. If it doesn't though, the code is in more trouble than most nrl followers currently think. The only excuse would be it being a long weekend and people being away with school holidays ... And thus away from their set top box.
Anyway I'll be home watching it ... The start anyway and if interesting all of it. Who to go for though. Manly I believe are playing so can't go for them .... So whoever is playing them i'll go for.

It'll flop, in terms of the share. Xman said that the AFL GF got an 80 percent share. Can the NRL? In that time slot? No way! Hey here's a thought. What if the NRL GF got beat by X Factor in Melbourne? :D :D :D

The AFL has had its GF on saturday afternoon from the start of time, couple that with nothing else on at that time of day and its a no brainer that they got 80% share.....
3.6m veiwers can the NRL do that????????????????????????
Yes and more
3 games well above your shitty 3.6m.........................and with the NRL final to come...............

Sounds about right.

Sad to see that the number of teams could potentially contract next season - three Balmain teams under threat, Auburn could go (no great loss) and you'd think Mac Uni are at risk of being a two team club again.....
We/I talk about growth etc but the reality is that football in Sydney has not really grown at all quantity wise since 1980 and that quality wise it is way way below what it was. Perhaps we should just accept that AFL in Sydney will always be stronger at the junior level than senior level (soccer mum factor and huge AFL investment) and much weaker at senior level...
This is reality...........................its time you singlet wearers find some................

Nice balanced post with sensible comment about the state of league and Australian rules in Sydney. It will be interesting to see if the AFL avoid the soccer scenario where heaps of kids play but it rarely converted to adults playing numbers. In saying that AFL would love to have presence in Sydney that soccer enjoys in Melbourne ... I'm not sure if they do or not but it would be a nice niche market.

They're not NRL. Theyre SOO. The NRLs GFs without a Qld or Melbourne team rate low 3m. Thionyl way they will get near 3.6m will be showing the entire game on the biggest viewing night of the week.
