Way to ignore the point. The giants have a terrific venue arrangement in Skoda, just like the suns at metricon. Both will be far more likely to succeed off field compared to teams without such a setup

Re: AFL PARTICIPATION RATES SURGE THANKS TO GWS!!!!!

Post by Raiderdave »

we didn't touch on development

Rugby League... certainly in NSW ( I believe QLD's is similar) .. has one of the most structured & brilliant development systems in Australian sport
it has developed into a talent factory that spits out some of this nations most gifted athletes

a kid signs at a local club to play RL
mini football from 6-8
mod football from 9-12
jr international 13's up

if he is good enough at 11 years he can trial for the U12's school boys national titles played over a week during the June school holidays & these are played all over the nation ... from Perth to Melbourne ... Sydney to Darwin .. & everywhere in between.
competing teams
NSWCCS ( NSW combined catholic schools)
NSWCSS ( NSW combined state schools)
QLDCCS
QLDCSS
ACT
VIC
SA
NT
WA

this happens again at U15's ..... & U18's
this is the schools system

the other system is the junior representatives program that has been in place since 1965 for the Ball cup & 1970 for the Matts ( QLD have a similar system)
2 age groups
the Harold Mathews cup .... Under 16's
the SG Ball Cup .... Under 18's

kids from all over trial in September to gain entry into a summer train on squad of 40 with all of the NSW based NRL teams, there are 18 sides in each age group ... including teams from Perth ( Pirates) in the 18's & Melbourne ( Storm) in both age groups
the Wests Tigers are split for these comps back into their old sides of Wests & Balmain .. as are the Dragons into Illawarra & St George
North Sydney enter sides ... Canberra as well.

these squads are then cut to 25 in January for a 9 game H&A season ( Feb to April) with finals at the end with the 18 sides split into 2 conferences
they play in the same kit as the NRL sides ...exactly the same jerseys shorts socks
Its a big deal for a 14 ..15 year old kid to run out onto the field kitted out exactly the same as their NRL heroes ..

after the grand finals in May
a week later the winners of the 2 age groups in both NSW & QLD playoff for the title of national champions in each age group..

these kids then develop through this system .... 16's to 18's ........... 18's to 20's .... 20's to either the NRL ... or NSW /QLD cups
by the time they are 20 they are as ready as they can be for topline football
this is why teams like the Storm .. & Titans... & in 2018 the Pirates & the 2nd Brissie team will too.. have a bevvy of ready made talent developed properly
& ready to go.

now fumblers
lets have a look at how your develop systems have prepared players for your expansions teams

:-k

First off, Dave, where do you get that 1700 adults playing RL in the Parramatta area? I call bullshit on that! 1700 divided by 15 is a bit over 113 teams. Now I know it'll be less than that for injuries and so on but where are these teams and clubs huh? Show me!

The same with the juniors, and touch DOESN'T COUNT! Show me the teams and clubs!

That development system you just described? It's a joke. No rep RL outside of NSW and Queensland and the schools thing (which is outside normal rep RL) is luck because the other states would barely scrape a team together as there is NO CLUB RL IN JUNIORS!!

AFL on the other hand has rep footy in EVERY STATE, WITHIN THAT STATE!! School AND club!!

If your development system is so good, where is it outside of NSW and QLD huh? NOWHERE!!

another example of this ignorant twat knowing fuck all about anything

oh &
VFL has no system similar to RL's rep program you dribbler
& this comes directly from a development officer I met from the VFL who was scouting for talent at RL's schoolboy nationals
he said himself the NSWRL's rep program is the best he has seen in any code.

that's right...
the VFL send talent scouts to our carnivals to poach our players at a young age.. the set up is that good... the ARU do the same
they don't get many of course
as our kids want to play a game for men ... not girls

the real proof
is the VFL could not muster enough quality talent to field 18 competitive sides & about 6 teams are chockers full of sub standard ...below par talent & cannot compete against the other 12 teams
the VFL has become a joke it is that uncompetitive & this............
is a failure in this codes development programs at the junior level nationally ... nothing surer

NFI at all .If Stupidity was a crime ,you'd be doing life.
You got shown up as having no fucking idea at all about the EELS so now you try to shift to Outside QLD & NSW.

As RD said.

the Melbourne storm made the SG Ball Grand Final in 2009 .. with 17 of the 25 kids coming from Melbourne
&
This.

Representative rugby league football in Western Australia has history going back to the early days of the WARL. The first interstate match played by Western Australians was against the Northern Territory in 1956, with WA winning the series 2-1.

In 1969 Darwin City invited the WARL to Darwin to play a match in celebration of Darwin's 100th founding anniversary in which WA won 23-19. In 1976 WA was invited to participate in the nationwide Amco Cup, where they defeated the Northern Territory 23-18.[1]

NT toured again in 1983 & 1985 and since 1994 Western Australia has competed annually in the Affiliated States Championship, winning the most titles (ten) of any state.[1]
& This.

On 12 December 2006 the Australian Rugby League board accepted a proposal to establish a Western Australian Rugby League representative side to play in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup for seasons 2008 & 2009, known as the WA Reds and played home matches at Perth Oval. In season 2010 the decision was made to enter the WA Reds team into the SG Ball Cup Under 18 competition. The season was a tough one with the 'Reds' finishing next to bottom of the ladder winning only their opening game of the season. The 2011 season saw the young Reds side improve their credentials finishing 13/18 with 3 wins from 9 matches for the season.

West Coast Pirates Development Squad Selected

by Kristian Dwyer

December 20th, 2013

WA Rugby League would like to congratulate the successful members of the West Coast Pirates Development Squad

The Development Squad will consist of 24 of the best players from both Under 12s and Under 13s in 2013.

They will be required to attend five training sessions that will focus on the core skills of Rugby League.

This will help prepare them for the coming season and allow them to experience the intensity of training at a representative level.

The Development Squad will train alongside the West Coast Pirates Academy for the third session.

The final two sessions will take place before West Coast Pirates SG Ball home games so the boys have an opportunity to watch WA’s finest juniors playing in the world’s best Under 18s Rugby League competition.

Has Crapper ever made a post or a claim where he hasn't been proven to be wrong/lying or just a fucktard with no fucking idea about anything.

I still would not be surprised if he is a RL troll.

No wagers, coward. Cough up the figures. Now. Or that's another thing to be added to the list of things you make up!

as for barely scraping sides together outside of NSW & QLD
the Melbourne storm made the SG Ball Grand Final in 2009 .. with 17 of the 25 kids coming from Melbourne
another example of this ignorant twat knowing fuck all about anything
17 kids from which schools? Probably 17 different ones seeing as they don't have a junior club competition at all!

oh &
VFL has no system similar to RL's rep program you dribbler
& this comes directly from a development officer I met from the VFL who was scouting for talent at RL's schoolboy nationals
he said himself the NSWRL's rep program is the best he has seen in any code.
That's something else you just made up. No AFL official would be caught dead at such carnivals, because they don't need them!

the real proof
is the VFL could not muster enough quality talent to field 18 competitive sides & about 6 teams are chockers full of sub standard ...below par talent & cannot compete against the other 12 teams
the VFL has become a joke it is that uncompetitive & this............
is a failure in this codes development programs at the junior level nationally ... nothing surer
If they couldn't compete we would have 40 to 50 goal thrashings, not the ones that have been happening and not as often as you think! Two clubs are still in development with one going very well (the Suns). Other clubs are in transistion for various reasons. It happens. If you understood elite sport you'd know that, Dave. But you don't. You're such a deluded RL troll you can't handle anything smart or logical. You just run around and lie out of desperation to keep your ego supple.

AFL scouts raiding rugby league carnivals in Queensland

A NEW threat has emerged in the battle for the most prized junior rugby league players in Queensland: AFL clubs.

Essendon, Collingwood and the Brisbane Lions have begun exploiting a loop hole in their code's draft system by targeting the best athletes in the mid-teens from rival codes.

The last thing the struggling Brisbane Broncos need is more competition for young talent.

It is understood that before the recent under-18 state league carnival in Kingaroy, several player managers received calls out of the blue from AFL development officials insisting they would be able to offer better contracts for the best talent available.

One of those clubs interested in the carnival's talent was the Lions.

AFL clubs are heavily restricted in how they can develop and monitor the best Aussie rules talent and there are tight laws regarding contact between club and player before the national draft.

However, those rules only apply to registered Aussie rules players.

If a gun athlete is a league player then the likes of the Lions can sign him immediately and begin training him up in their academy.

Brisbane Broncos talent Joseph Forrester is set to switch to the AFL for next season with several clubs circling the rangy 20-year-old centre.

Velocity Sports is one of a handful of management companies linking league juniors to AFL clubs.

"We have been told by a few AFL clubs to pass on information and contact details of league athletes who may be suited to AFL,'' Velocity's Shaun Pyne said.

"They are targeting carnivals now which is a new step. They want the best athletes full stop and in Queensland that means targeting the carnivals.''

An AFL club scout who asked not to be named said the move was designed to flout draft rules.

The scout said in the future the best teenage AFL prospect may not be found in the draft.

"There's a lack of talent coming through the traditional AFL states and in Queensland league is the number one code with most of the best athletes,'' the scout said.

"They sign a 14-year-old league star who is long and athletic, let him keep playing league but also bring him into their academy for opposed sessions and training in Aussie rules.

"Essendon are doing it best at the moment through their James Hird Academy.

"This way they have kids signed without needing to worry about the draft.''

Ex-Gympie soccer star and now Collingwood player Lachlan Keeffe is so far the best example of the new system.

Keeffe is regarded as Collingwood national recruiting manager Derek Hine's greatest success story.

Spotted during a Queensland talent search, Keeffe had barely watched AFL or touched a Sherrin before joining Collingwood and he eventually debuted in 2011.
