Good to see that you watched that AFL game and not that horrible rl.

.
As you know cussy, i watch and have played both codes. Thus I have a sound knowledge of both codes. Thus making me a high authority on most arguments in this joint. Higher than you cussy, higher than you :afro:

the a few, that will drop off but it will level out. if games would be played there on a more consistent basis. if a team as in the saints or bulldogs, where to play some home games there through out the H&A season similar to what hawthorn do in Tasmania, would be a good indication on what support there is for the AFL

Undoubtedly you can lose people but also you can build on a good start and use that attract new fans.
For the size of the city that's a good turnout and very difficult to produce regularly.
Seemingly the Hurricanes only had 6k the previous week so that would be a worry for the AFL.

Depends on what the AFL do between drinks, if they spend a lot of time and effort then they might maintain it. Watching it there was an enormous amount of kids teenagers in the crowd. Although it might have been what TV was showing, this would indicate free tickets - kids will go along to anything (they have no biases). As for standard they most probably know the difference so I don't think that will effect them. I think they should probably have had 2 or 3 games this year with Hawthorn being involved and perhaps a West Coast. As there are lots of NZ in WA. But good first effort.

Lots of kids because Kiwikick has been so successfull and that has been the recent logic by the AFL build the relationship young and let it develop. We all know how hard it is to sway adults.
Wellington has said it's wants an AFL team, which is an amazing statement. Saint Kilda has said it wants to play more games than just the one per year for three years. So it seems a marriage made in heaven.
Comaprisons are being made with Canberra and it is very difficult for that sized city to carry multiple national teams.

Good crowd, good atmosphere, respectful ceremony.

Raiderdave is now in a quandry. On the one hand he desperatley wants to claim that a big chunk of the 22k peple were kiwi kickers that got in for free. On the other hand, by claiming that he's admitting that Kiwi kick is successfull. What to do, what to do....

Only about 4500 were travelling. The other 18k were locals, watching the Australian game. That 22k tripled what the thugby got in their last game at the venue and now New Zealand want their own AFL side. Can't blame them to be honest, once you see a superior sport to both union and league you're going to want to see more of it.
