Striker wrote:Oh great! Do that and lose 33 percent of the playing base! You going to do that? You going to tell every player who uses Nike to stop? Good luck with that, Einstein! That's why they have us over a barrel!! Are we clear now?
So there's no other sports gear out there?
The NRL have sold out to Nike by the sounds of it. Yet their fans had the nerve to take a shot at the AFL who gave sherrin the boot.
Nice!

33 percent of the players have chosen Nike because the others are presumably inferior. You're not going to make them change because they have found a product that allows them to play at their best as far as they are concerned?
I'd like to see you try that.
Note that I'm not saying that to support Nike. I'm saying that to show that Nike have us over a barrel! WE HAVE NO CHOICE!!

Whether players support their product is irrelevant. The Broncos promote Nike in return for money. This is a choice! If the Broncos dumped Nike the players could still wear their products.
Just like when the demons sponsor came out with racist remarks. They needed the money but dumped the sponsor because the message against racism was more important.
The hypocrisy here is hilarious!

"Whether players support their product is irrelevant."
WTF??? Are you serious?? It is relevant, because it's the reason why the NRL has no choice! If they did withdraw support for Nike, they will lose 33 percent of their playing base! They won't wear any other products because they are not comfortable with them! Did you think of these options? No of course you didn't, because you are determined to prove there is a choice. If you want to wreck the playing base you are going the right way about it.
The Melbourne thing wasn't the same, because they weren't in a no choice situation.

Oh deary me. There are other footwear out there that are as good.
Why would they lose players? where are they going to go?

Other footwear that's just as good huh? 33 percent of the NRL playing base doesn't agree with you. I read somewhere a couple of years ago about a dozen or so players who said that only Nike boots help them keep their feet without twisting their ankles! You think you'll make them change to anoither brand? You're dreaming, Darrell!

striker, you do realise 33% is a minority.
What difference does it make if the players wear Nike yet Nike dont sponsor the Broncos. This logic needs further explanation...
Adidas have sponsored Collingwood for over 10 years but their players wouldnt be locked to Adidas boots

33 percent is a third of the playing base! You want to lose a third of the competition?
I'll tell you why. If Nike catch sight of another brand of boot they'll sue. They're that precious. Another example of having us over a barrel.
Adidas might not be as precious which would explain that. Maybe they also know that Nike have a lock on certain types of feet.

Even if the players continue to wear Nike, why do the Broncos have to have them as a major sponsor?

Cutting them as sponsor would not affect players
Plus, where are a thrid of the competition going to play? In NZ or England?

No, theyll find another sponsor and play where the money is, in Australia.

Cutting them as a sponsor would cause them to tell the players (Nike I mean) to stop wearing their product and they can't and Nike know it!!
That third of the competition would go to RU. Or retire because they can't play in the boots that suit them best.
Just accept that you don't understand, X.

Oh deary deary me.
33% of RL players cannot move to RU unless there is a position for this number of players
The players can wear Nike even if they are not sponsors of the broncos.
Youre in lala land! And a massive hypocrit for slamming the AFL who acted against Sherrin when the NRL are in bed with Nike...

Thats why they cut Sherrin. In typical NRL fashion they turn a blind eye...

No blind eye, just taking my chance to kick the code while I can.
Is that ok with you?
