Brisbane did very well in Perth.

Sheezus Xman you have completely lost the plot now. "Very well"???

Brisbane could only manage 5 goals you turkey! They were woeful, completely woeful. Fremantle, one of the teams in the middle AFL division, were also fairly ordinary but they were all over their lower division opponent. Well over double the scoring shots on goal and the inside 50's count illustrated just what a whitewash it was. If Fremantle had have kicked straight this one would have been a 10goals plus win easily.

The head to head live betting told the story when in the third quarter with brisbane only down by 12points the bookies had fremantle at 1.03!

"Very well" indeed Xman!

Ok Xman I see you chickened out of the last bet... So new bet with same wager is. Brisbane, Melbourne, GWS and GC will get no more than 1 win each against a side other than themselves by mid season. Even uncompetitive teams can have their lucky day in the big league. So essentially I'm saying these teams will be completely uncompetitive apart from amongst themselves, with no more than one lucky result going their way each.

You man enough to stick by your words and say they'll be competitive? Brrrk brrrk brrrkbrrk
Xman i see you didnt really come up with an answer to this bet? You in? Or do you now agree with me that Melb and Bris are completely uncompetitive in the AFL comp this season?

Yes i agree eels but the thing is he's clearly losing face anyway. His words say he thinks melb and bris are competitive but his actions say he doesnt believe it for a seconed. If i was him i'd chance the bet as he's already stooped so low and lost cred and you never know, some miracle could occur and these teams could get a few odd wins before mid season. Atleast then he'll appear to stand by his words.

Indeed, it must be a real worry for the NRL. Blowouts and smashings happening weekly. This week so far:

Brisbane 30 def Canberra 6

North Queensland 50 def Sydney Roosters 12

So NRL 2 smashing AFL 4 so far

Carl 122 vs Coll 62
Rich 133 vs Mel 74
Fre 64 vs Bris 35 52 inside 50s to Bris 20 if frem can kick straight its a flogging.
Stk 103 vs WB 40

Thing is that we have not seen 50 pionts scored in a league game for quite some time,

The AFL has an average of 4 floggings every round for the past 2 to 3 years.

2 bottom 8 sides in the NRL beat 2 top 8 sides this week.

Warriors 42 - 22 Souths were in top 8 before this round
NQL cowboys 50 - 12 Sydney Roosters were in 6th spot before the week now still in 7th spot.

I'd rather a high scoring smashing any day over a 1 score to 2 like we see in the NRL.

Even the NRL fans on LU are complaining their game is turning into a low scoring snooze fest!

And the crowds and ratings are showing with the AFL increasing their lead over the NRL this year.

So why dont you take the bet on and make a mockery out of me then Xman? You should take the bet and by mid season you can show everyone how stupid I am for suggesting bris and melb are uncompetitive.

The entire basis of your original claim was that the AFL had 4-6 uncompetitive teams. Well the suns were more than competitive last night. The Lions have already won this year and have only lost to carlton who are great, and Freo in Perth, which is understandable.

Melbourne are an unknown quantity because they have a new coach and a new game plan. You claimed they were uncompetitive after 2 games and because of their results last year. They won 1/3 rd of their matches! #-o

You're a complete fool, again!

The fact of the matter is folks there are blowout games in both comps. The unsettling and concerning FACT is that in the AFL comp there is a very clear distinction between those who can compete and those who cant, and there's atleast 4 teams which just cant compete with the others, week in week out. In the NRL sure you'll get blowouts, albeit many less than in the AFL. But the thing is you cant pick the blowouts in the NRL each week.

When you go out to watch melb bris GC or GWS in the AFL comp you are paying good dollars to watch training runs. Its just not a match. Unfortunately the AFL folk in here want to repress this fact and hope it just all goes away. It's funny but sad they can not admit something they love is pretty stuffed up right now. I think its best for the AFL if we all unite on this one folks and agree there's big problems and send that letter down to AFL HQ.

Who's in with me!? :D

I wonder if the lions fans thought they were uncompetitive against Melbourne?

The only reason the majority of the one sided games in NRL arent complete blow outs is because of the low scoring nature of RL. Conversely an ARs team that plays better will usually be rewarded on the scoreboard.

But in the end it's all about which game is entertaining and draws the crowds and tv viewers.

We all know which code is dominating the crowds and ratings this year, despite a few one sided games.

I enjoy how you refrain from telling us who brisbane beat. Melbourne, that's who they beat  Now yes the suns were competitive last night and as i said, i'm sure there'll be the odd day when the stars align and for some miracle things go the basketcases way. This wont happen often and in the end it didnt for the suns last night, they lost...again.

Melbourne and brisbane have been smashed to billio in their games, as has GWS and the suns (apart from last night where the stars aligned for a few quarters). This will continue as I say and if you think I'm a complete fool then surely you would take the bet on and make me look the fool. I'm standing by my claim, unfortunately Xman is too brrrrk brrrrk brrrkbrrk to stand by his.

Advantage KE! :thumbleft:

How about we bet on your original claim? If all of those 4 teams more than 5 goals for every match this year you are right!

After all, that is a pretty decent description of "uncompetitive".
