Like Raiders said prior to the scandal they were averaging 23K from 3 games.

If you remove the 1 dollar tickets and the first ever game at AAMI Park then their average was 10K.

Home average for the season in 2010 was the highest in club history, cooee. You are yet to prove that this was caused by $1 tickets.

thats not what he's saying
he's saying the salary cap scandal had a devastating effect on the club

before the Scandal
av 23,000 ( etihad) 3 games

after the scandal at AAMI
av 11,890 9 games
take away the $1 ticket game

av 10,880

K?

the scandal had a huge impact .... as evidenced here
club is still getting ova it

Hang on, I remember reading comments from RL fans saying the cheating scandal galvanised and increased support for the Storm. Which one is it?

How pathetic, an average of a little over 10k for a team that plays finals regularly. Give up already. The Storm will never be embraced by the people of Melbourne.

GWS have more members than the Storm and will no doubt have bigger crowds. Says it all really.

amongst their rusted on core for sure
but their attempts to attract a wider audience ... a huge blow it twas

the Storm have approx 6,000 members ATM.. they'll have more then 12K in 2012
& I think their average crowd will top 15K this year easily

GWS had 3,804 members as of yesterday
if they can double this total it will be a minor miracle

if they can average more then 12K at games ( thats with a derby against the Swans included , fudging & give aways too )
I'll be highly surprised
they are gunna be bad. [-o<

so no
Storm > GWS

Correct, Beaussie, and the fact that 2010 was the Storm's best season for home crowds in it's history bears that out. The link I gave puts the average for that season at 14,670 and not 10,000. From 2002 to 2005 they averaged less than 10,000 at home. The only year of those that they didn't make the finals was 2002. Their worst year was 2004 when they had the lowest home game average in the entire NRL!

Hmm, the storm are a single RL team Located in a sports loving city. They have played in 5 GFs in 14 years and only missed the finals 3 times.

The GWS are the second AFL team in a city that seems indifferent to sport. They have not even played a game yet let alone a final or a GF.

And you are proud of the fact that the storm have less than 3k members more?? :?

& for the 3rd time you ignoramous .... they averaged 23K at Etihad before the scandal broke
& 10K afterward

what is shows is they were in for a good year as defending premiers til the scandal broke
how far it set them back with regard to support is incalculable
end of story.

You're the only one crapping on about GWS being a tsunami.

How anyone expects them to be even moderately popular for the first decade is beyond me.

lets wait for that to happen first

but
I don't think I'll have to give it too much thought just the same
snowballs of it occuring at this rate

however ... the AFL may come in & fudge their membership figures to get them to 10k
theres nothing the ministry of lies n trickery won't stoop to
is there ?
