As I pointed out
this isn't a one off either

since about 2003 the NRL's show piece has increased its Metro audience has grown hugely
the average in 1993 was probably 1.7 million .. its now about 2.4 Million
the AFL's has fallen from about 2.7 Million average .. to 2.4

off the back of this
the NRL Grand final has won about 3 of the last 6 GF's total audience
& on one of the years the AFL won the battle of the GF's
SOO took the title as biggest football game of that year .. as it will again in 2011

Because you keep making the ridiculous statements. You at least try to back it up, Pussycat - which is more than I can say for Raider!

It's interesting (and Onions saw this but his language and all the follow ups had to go as usual) that this came from 2008, but specifically mentioned digital only. The comment was made about ABC2 (which is not a state transmission) and TDT which is just one network out of the three. Tassie do have three. TDT is affiliated with Ten, which means the AFL figures will be incomplete and there won't be an NRL readings at all.

My comments about inaccuracy remain valid.

What are the ridiculous statments you are talking about? I've backed up everthing that i have said - unlike you. If you go back through this thread its all there.

Does this help
Television audience measurement company Regional TAM announced yesterday that digital viewership surveys will commence in Tasmania from November 30 [2008].

Currently Tasmanian television ratings are analogue-only
, meaning digital-only stations TDT and ABC2 are not being surveyed and households that have digital TV access are not being surveyed at all.

The only statements I've made is to call you out on what I considered to be ridiculous comments - ie assuming that everyone is being counted in the stats you are referring to. I keep proving you wrong with simple reviews of what you link. I don't need proof for that. Nine, Seven and ABC1 are not being counted today, according to your link (and now that I think of it maybe Ten isn't either, as TDT could in fact be the local version of Ten's third channel - to go with the main and OneHD).

That is 2009 not 2006 which is how this all started when Raider said the 2006 NRL Grand Final easily outrated the 2006 AFL Grand Final.

BTW, nice comment on that site. Even links to this site telling the author to get his facts right in future.

yes ... 16K difference
I noticed that a game between a regional side & a capital city side in the NRL ... rated nearly as a much as an AFL game between 2 capital city sides

& flogged the other ...
I mean what the hell is going on with those ratings for the Swans V Fremantle game

51K for the Swans in Sydney 8-[ .... 322K for the NRL game in Sydney
( more then the AFL in Melbourne 262K )

I think you should be asking where are all the AFL fans

The article said digital counting would join the existing annalong counting from the end of 2008. It also mentioned that there was only 2 digital stations in Tasmania, TDT and ABC2

I wouldn't think the AFL GF would be on the abc. And even if you look up TDT on Wikipedia you'll find, I think, they didn't either.
