Nothing wrong with the ABC beaussie but in terms of $$$ they dont cut the mustard :)

TLPG your 'qualification' highlights just how narrow minded you are. Straight out of the late 1800's!

Quit while you're not too far behind and admit you have been proven wrong, again :D

It's not so hard. I was wrong and you were right with carlton and melbourne this week

It doesn't show any narrow mindedness at all. It shows knowledge.

$$$ has nothing to do with it.

Careful, Mark. There are many who claim to be of Aboriginal heritage who aren't.

Besides, I'll bet that many communities in NT are under counted (probably applies to SA, WA and Queensland as well).
I will go with the Cencus figures. Tell me how you arrived at your conclusion that the majority live in NT. There night be more per capita in NT but defrinately not the majority.
Didn't you read my qualification? I guess not seeing as you can't spell "Census".
O/K, A typo, I spelt Census wrong that's all you have but really, you don't have any facts to back up your statement do you? It's just what you think. I guess that's alright for you but your not worth having a serious discussion with when you just pull figures out of your head or some other part of your anatomy.

I didn't pull any figures out. I just made a general statement. You were the one pulling out stats - and as the old saying "You can make statistics prove anything you like".

Experience based instinct on the other hand.....

Yes Mark, my thoughts exactly.

No matter how open minded one is, you simply cant take a man who has just pulled his digits out of his rectum seriously.

Well going by tv deals, the AFL got $1.253 Billion. NRL? In terms of $$$, yes indeed, the NRL don't cut the mustard as you put it.

TLPG you're an umpire and a checkout chick?

I'm no checkout chick, No Brain KE. Yes I am an umpire, and I doubt you could last five seconds in such an important job.

Bull. You haven't umpired a game in your life. You don't have the knowledge.

As of right now - KE no longer exists. Thank you very much and good night all!

KE exists, KE has umpired. You can't handle the truth.

Anyway, bringing this thread back on topic, what do people think is realistic for the next NRL broadcast rights? I'm thinking they should be happy with an increase from the current $500 million to about $700-$750 million. There is no way more than that can be justified considering the games are only shown before midnight in NSW and QLD. In any case, there is no way the NRL will get anywhere near the record AFL deal of $1,253 Billion.

Especially as Nine seems to be the only FTA network interested in it. I've never known Seven or Ten to compete for it. The competition is partly why the AFL can pull a higher price (along with other factors).

I think considering RL's massive support all across regional and metro NSW and QLD, two states which hold a very large percentage of the entire nations population, and the lesser level of support RL has in places like VIC and the NT, that 1 billion would be fair.

We all should remember that regional australia is a rapidly expanding and already large market.
