please
Based on this ridiculous premise ... the NRL's 9 Sydney clubs should all get more money to spend of their players salaries , its a crock & only designed to keep NSW sides competitive by giving them an advantage....
if Melb was a more expensive city to live in ... would the VFL give its ten clubs 1 million more each to spend ... of course it wouldn't.
NRL players go to the Storm to play at a successful professional football club.. they would accept less to do so as it enhances their chances of representative football & the personal glory that goes with it.
If VFL players are only looking at what price it is to buy a 3 beddie at North Mead when the swines offer them a contract ,like its a .. tad .. more expensive to go there ..so they would consider not going to play at a succesful club that will help their career & earn them more money further down the track
then they are passionless .. unprofessional ..... grubs
a 350K contract in Sydney ... or a 350K contract at the western bullfrogs
are we expected to believe a player will feel disadvantaged by going to Sydney
FMD.. VFL fans are dumb.

wow what a comprehension FAIL!
Its a comparison moron!
The majority of AFL teams are located OUTSIDE NSW where the cost of living is less. There to even out the "effective" salary caps the simplest way is to increase the cap for the Giants and Swans. Therefore only 2 out of 18 clubs require change. Not to mention the fact that NSW is an expansion state so the majority of players drafted to the swans will be required to relocate. It only makes sense they do not suffer relocation upheaval plus a financial penalty.
Where as the majority of NRL clubs are in NSW so the simplest way to even out the "effective" caps is to decrease caps outside NSW. Therefore only 5 of 16 clubs require change.
Dumbass

oh what F'ing snot
how bout the same for everyone ... Like we do
and get rid of the draft ... like we did
if your sport is as national as you wombats claim it is .... this should have very little effect & the comp has integrity & is even.
but of course then
reality bites
don't it

Their not banned from ch7. The agreement was to show AFL on 7mate to qld and nsw, just like NRl is on gem to AFL states.
Every AFL gets a decent go on FTA TV, even better if they make the 8. The suns and giants are shown on FTA 20 times the number of times the raiders are in the first 20 rounds last year!
Interesting how youre defending it but the raiders and other clubs are furious...

The Suns/GWS would get far, far less exposure on a secondary channel than on PTV. Is'nt that the whole idea of it?
And yes they are banned, Not to be shown on the main channel for 5 years - signed Kerry Stokes. I guess D just rolled over and went for the money, At the very same time the NRL are dictating to CH 9 about greater exposure for the Storm.... Who licks who's balls.
the reasons FTA coverage is preferred is twofold:
1. more exposure because more people have access to FA, even 2nd digital channels.
2. free viewership for fans and potential fans
As for the AFL rolling over, what are you on? Every team in WA, SA, NSW and QLD is on FA every week. Last year the AFL was only on TV in NSW and QLD maybe twice a weekend. Now their are 4 live games, BETTER than the NRL in their own homeland!
The Storm are on gem in Victoria, not CH9

They got, what less than 8 FTA games in to Melbourne last year? Yeah, theyre doing well!

I just addressed that point! do you bother to read posts other than your own?
# secondary channels GWS/Suns match would get a lot less exposure then say Canberra on PTV. Its Exposure clubs want - exposure to the largest possible audience. and the two new kids on the block have really missed out big time there. There is know one to blame but D. Hes the one that rolled over for the cash. I guess he needs it to cover some of there losses(or should I say half the teams loses)

Yes, i read your posts. Not sure why though.
digital FTA take up would be FAR higher than PayTV.
As for AD caving in, How is 4 live games to ever state, plus home teams on every week, caving in?

The cash component is $1.118 billion, with $135 million extra in contra arrangements. The cash contribution is $369 million more than in the previous broadcast deal.
it says CASH
