Looks like the effect of GWS and the Wanderers is really starting to hurt them.
And if Dave's right about nRL fans being bandwagoners, given Penrith have traded all of their best players they could be well fkd in 2013.

Almost 3,000 Canberra residents have signed up to be GIANTS members for 2013, taking the overall tally to 8,900, which is 5,500 better than last season.
Good to see the increase coming from Western Sydney.
But, but, but.... Raiderdave told us there were less than 2,000 members from Sydney with the bulk of the Giants membership being ACT based. More lies exposed.

I said only a 3rd of their members live in Sydney you cockhead

thats 3000
& its a fact

3000 in Canberra

& 3000.... religious Zealots from the vicky kicky heartland buying interstate ... non game , bumper sticker & cap memberships for about $30

thats the breakdown
Western Sydneysiders ..... next to zero interest in the Victorian game

You showed figures for the year before their first season. What about this year since they are actually playing in Sydney now, and have a developing team which may win some games?

Old data = BS

Must I remind you all that Penrith, Manly & Sydney Roosters have very SMALL supporter bases, there supporters will only turn up to a game if they've been winning and in these areas many NRL supporters already support one of the bigger clubs. You say GWS just hit 9,000 members congrats to them, but the real question is can they back that up and fill Skoda Stadium?? The big clubs in Sydney will always be the ones who dominate the landscape i.e. NRL- South Sydney (20,454), St. George (16,025), Parramatta (11,739), Canterbury (11,500) & Wests Tigers (7,628); AFL- Sydney Swans (25,000+)
No one here gives a crap about GWS & I know because i live in the heart of Western Sydney.

Raiderdave says this is how it should be and when a team is not performing, fans shouldn't turn up to games to show their disapproval of the way the team is playing.

What are your thoughts on Raiderdave's opinion, Brandz?

Everyone has their own opinion, not hating on Dave but his comments are those of a typical Sydney NRL fan, I hear that same line way to often "I will only go to a game, if my team is winning" or "I'd rather watch it on TV". I personally, turn up to watch my team (the bulldogs) rain, hail or shine/ winning or losing at ANZ and support them as much as I can, if all NRL fans were the same our membership levels would be much higher and crowd numbers would look alot better.
