AD tough and intelligent?
Nah, last year was worse. This situation is the price of expansion. Tie will tell how and when it stabilizes but when it does the game will benefit.

Calm down KE, two teams in two years and the situation with Melb and port (not to mention WB re-building) have caused an unusual situation, it won't stay that way. Usually if expansion occurs in AFL areas there are players who are playing elsewhere who want to go home, local talent thats already settled in the area and good local established players in local comp that can make the transition - with GWS and GC that wasn't the case, so they have kids instead - when they hit 50 games they will come good - Melb worries me more - Port and WB will turn around. 2-3 years it will even out again. RL has gone thru the same maybe not as bad - but just the same. (Try some of the American Baseball clubs and NFL sides there the same when new franchises come along). As for AD its usually only NRL supporters that hate him - AFL supporters usually don't have too many bad words to say about him - he also speaks to other codes that your not told about and is not critical of them like RL is of AF (its a Syd thing!)

The worst in the history of the comp is nothing to settle about swines. It's shocking and I simply won't believe the tripe that thingsll be all fine in a few years. This theory is lacking. In fact this yeAr is looking worse...

But we are making awareness inroads. Finally. We have 2 or 3 stalwart AFL fans admitting that yes the AFL comp is lopsided to billio! Swines? Xman? I want the pair of you to apologise to uS for wasting all our time earlier. And I want you to apologise to yourselves for making yourselves look so so so so foolish for so so so so long! [-X

KE look at my 1st post I conceded it was lopsided, in fact I have been consistent whole time. Not going to apologise when I haven't wasted anyone's time.

Look for what its worth I agree with Queen-Eliagh, it is lopsided and will be so for a while, but like most things this can be circular, in that you can have years where the comp is even but you have one outright favourite, other years you can have a number of teams competing for the last space in the finals. I think RL had a similar problem when they introduced 2 new teams prior to the super league war. New sides unbalance the comp but I don't think its long term. I for one don't see it as an issue as time will balance things out.

I've never denied it was lopsided, only questioned the affect on the game and stated it would be transient.

The AFL crowds are up an average of 1000 or so a game this year indicating things are improving

Swines and Xman, seriously, thankyou for acknowledging the comp is lopsided. But you need to add "to billio". I'm almost certain the pair of you have also said "its just GWS and melbs, when they're better it'll all be fine". Sorry but its not 'just gws and melbs', its a whole raft of pathetic uncompetitive teams slumping around the bottom of the table for two years now.

Admit it, its lopsided to billio.

Thanks,
KE

Did you read what I wrote? I conceded it was and will be for a while BUT these things go in cycles I mentioned GWS, WB, GC, Melb and Port is obvious. Next year add St.Kilda and Ess (depending on drugs). But all is not lost the draft, trade week and free agency have the potential to change that (not to mention a new coach etc).

That's good swines. I'm happy you mentioned all the clubs in the basketcase league. Weren't you one of the folk who defiantly claimed it was only gws and melbs over the past few months though? That was more what i was referring to. If not, my apologies my foe.

Some games are lopsided to billio, some are close.

 "some"

Thing is I could predict at a 90% success rate which games would be lopsided to billio and which games wouldn't in the AFL comp. in the nrl that prediction would drop to about 20% ;)

The basketcase league is very very real, isn't it? :)
