AFL: SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOOTBALL Metro 339(22, 145,14, 56, 100) + Regional (estimate 1/3) 113 + PTV 101

= 553k

NRL = Sunday Afternoon Football Metro 277 + Regional 218 + PTV 203

= 698k

but but but

should be posting the stupid tally

NRL 24 - AFL 0 on Sundays..
why are tallies stupid? Isnt that what you guys do but using the entire season?

Feel free to tally Sunday's, but it wont be easy given we win every week due to 2 concurrent games

You wonder how much further fox footy would be ahead if they didn't have to compete with so much more fta & games showing on other Foxtel channels

Did Ch 9 loose 800m?
All media companies are finding it very tough.

Nine will post big losses and poor results as well.

The AFL is one of Seven West Media's saving graces.

Unlike NRL, which Nine aren't making profits from, a very ordinary year (Fusion's Steve Allen said the same).

Anyway back to last night's AFL ratings...

WOW 🎉

channel nine was on the brink of bankruptcy a few years ago.

you dont know the full story of C7 loss. billion dollar businesses have the best accountants working for them, it could have been a big year of investing for c7 financial & tax reasons,
in the past c7 has been more stable of the commercial networks in Aus
800m, and this is just the 1st year of there 6year agreement [-(

You mock c7!for a loss yet claim the nrlol making a loss and receiving advances and knocked back formloabs is ok!

Bahahahaha
If there was troubled times at c7 there would be mass cutbacks, heads rolling & public statements

Actually we do know that before write downs - mostly due to a decrease in license valuation, as well as writing off their streaming operation and other assets. Writing off those "impairments" was worth 558m and 276m each to the bottom line.

get your act together pussycat. You used to be better than this.
No excuses Wookie, they posted a near $800m loss. Fan boy has been talking them up, telling us at every opportunity how well C7 are doing and that its largely due to the AFL. And then, when he hears about this Massive loss, to hide his embarrassment, he goes into deflection mode. And tries to blame the current atmosphere. That well might be that still doesn't excuse the fact that his beloved Ch7 have made him look like a real douche bag - which he is by the way.

Then link, gets on here with his usual crap. Mr no news posts some article from 2012 trying to justify the situation  :?

Writedowns are a problem for shareholders but don't immediately affect cash flow. All TV stations have written down the value of their stations in the last 10 years - Nine had to give away its equity to lenders as it was so heavily in debt but the station made a small operating profit but TV networks are no longer valued at $1bn or so.
