Do you think Dave is a teenager ? It maybe early 20s ? The way he writes and the referenced he uses are very 80s but others are more akin to what teenagers say these days . I'm guessing mid 20s but from a country area originally at least, where they are still a decade behind re social thinking ( things like racist thinking, aboriginal jokes etc or gay fl etc). I'd say he's not either, my theory is that he is most prob from O/S imigrated here and decided that in order to intergrate he had to adopt without question RL and now he feels its under threat he has to attack without stopping to appreciate any of the sports qualities. Most people in Canberra to Broken Hill know alot of people that play AF, if not play it themselfs as well as RL, country towns play RL Sunday AF on Saturday. So I think he can't be from canberra - because he follows Canberra would indicate he is new to sport rather introduced by his father - like many of my relatives in Syd they all follow Balmain(west tigers) and easts. But I agree that his way of insulting people and denigrating AFL is really the product of a young mind, so I agree with that. As for KE I agree with you entirely, the way he usually adopts RD's position is a sign of someone trying to find acceptance and who wants to be regarded as cleaver. He seems socially inept. Anyway were both going to get a cockhead or shithead reply from RD and a yeah me too from KE.

Dave reminds me of the boy next door's dad in the movie Americsn Beauty. In two ways ... He makes a hell of a lot of statements suggesting being gay is so e terrible thing ??? And two , it is analogous with his stance against AFL ... Me thinks he doth protest too much ... Apologies to bill.
