Pacific Championships
relegated to GEM , because of the clash with the news on the main channel & a 6pm kickoff time here , 8pm in NZ
no Australian team playing
still rated 210K on 9 , maybe 350K with STV which is very tidy indeed
for those who did watch , wow what a game

buzzing on the internet atm

188K on Ch 9 main channel , for PNG & the Cook Islands in the plate Pacific championships
probs 300K with STV .... again , pretty good.

Probably another 1.2 million in PNG

In the UK
741K poms tuned into the 2nd Test V Samoa on BBC2
excellent numbers

the 3rd level of competition in RL is going gang busters atm

very tidy ratings for yesterdays pacific chamionships final in Sydney yesterday

Australia & Tonga in Australia
mens
614K on Ch 9 , over a million after STV is added
Australia V New Zealand
womens
231K on Ch9 , over 400K with STV

the Aust V Tonga mens game would have attracted huge ratings in NZ ( huge Tongan population) & PNG as well ,
probably well over 2 million overall in the pacific..
And the relegation final between NZ V PNG , well over a million in PNG by itself

the NRL starts & finishes the season on a huge high =D =D =D =D =D =D =D

More then 6.2 million viewers watched the Pacific Championships in Australia across all platforms , 40% more then the tournament last year.
very , very good numbers.
Numbers in NZ not available yet & as for PNG , no total figures officially but we know there were some astounding figures earlier in the tournament
15 million would not surprise.

Australasias biggest sport is unstoppable atm.

Number 1 Brands in Sport ratings wise in Australia (when national team play)

Cricket
Rugby League
Soccer
Union

Cricket peaked years ago and with more and more Coverage not on FTA the decline of Cricket continues (so sad really)

Rugby league has huge potential to grow more and more

The countries in their region aren't much competition for them so i suppose they're happy having sthn hemp teams touring each end of season
Occasionally they play the French in season , but theres no set schedule.
Teams of Wales , Scotland & Ireland are all heritage teams relying heavily on NRL players , so hard to get them playing regularly.

The love affair with Matilda's is slowly starting to wane

Crowds are still good
crowd was a 47,500 sellout in Brisbane last night

but TV ratings are way down to 401K on FTA ...
not a smidg of their numbers from last year , or even earlier this year when they were hitting near a million

Ratings aren't everything of course, and they do have a massive recognition as a team - branding is good - however the drop - particularly against Brazil who I think are a high drawing team - is concerning and would not want to be a trend.
