More Vics putting their own money towards expansion clubs to boost memberships eh, you people are like the plague, infectious, dangerous and deadly, yet just like the plague, we have the vaccine to kill it off, just need someone to pull the trigger or pop the balloon as they say.

Pop, pr!ck, all the same.
Just imagine what would happen if News suddenly cut their support for the Storm.

Yep I can actually, be the best thing ever.

News Limited for the 1 Millionth time for you did not put any money into the Storm, the money News took from the NRL as a whole went to the Storm via News where they (news) got $10 million a year from the NRL, News then gave what they thought the Storm needed (and a bit more you merkins) and kept the rest for themselves as payback for money they lost during the actual SL war. (which they should not of been allowed to take, they started the war, MERKINS)

So despite News giving millions to the Storm this year to give them an advantage in football departure spending and basically survive as a club, losing them as owners would be the best thing ever for them?

The Storm would need to make some huge expenditure cuts if News were to leave. The bulk of these cuts would be in the football dept, making them a weaker side and likely miss the finals. Then will come sub 10k crowds week in week out like we saw in the early 2000's when they weren't one of the best sides each year.

Losing News as owners of Melbourne would be a disaster for the Storm and the nRL.

Losing News as owners would be the best thing, the ARLC can run them or sell them to someone else.

You only want news involved because it damages the game, don't try that bs with me, I didn't come down in the last shower

If news leave and the Storm are sold, at least the owner will only have to look after the Storm team itself whilst the ARLC looks after the VRL. The way it is now is complete and utter bullshit.

Of course it would be great for the game, only a total r3tard or a wannbe troll would say otherwise.

No business people with half a brain would want to waste their money on a club like the Storm. I can't see any other owners coming to their rescue if News cut ownership of the club.

Who the hell would buy a club that struggles to get a 12k home game average in their premiership year? Imagine when they miss the finals! What a basket case!

Stewie (aka storm will NEVER make a profit). Don't make another statement that will make you look like a idiot! News own storm ....meaning that any money storm recieve goes to news! So from nrl funds, jerseys, memberships, sponsors etc all money's goes to news then they give storm an operating budget and they keep the rest with smalls amount going to vic rl. Sooner news leave, the better. News aren't wanted because of the super league history and they want to get out aswell. Their a news company and owning a sportin team isn't there core business. News are looking for buyers because storm are self sufficient now and will make news money when they sell.

Gws is a club that won't make a profit! $-200 mil.

If News aren't wanted then Storm management would kick them out. There's nothing blocking this anymore as News no longer have any control of the nRL. But the reality is that the Storm rely on News' money to survive. The Storm know they can't survive off sub 15k crowds every single year and small membership numbers. That rabble needs all the help it can get.

You can add at least another 10,000 to West Coast's total once they're playing at the new stadium in 2018.

News own the storm management. They choose who is in the management.

Where is queer is AFL? Starts a thread for the sole reason to annoy rl fans then goes missing. Proper update would be nice. There's a lot of AFL teams there that are a fair way from there targets. They've got no chance!!

Yep. The regular year in year our members are now just re-signed automatically, so their numbers come in straight away rather than waiting for them to fill out paper work and send it back in. Add to that the proliferation of the internet and the ease in which people can sign up online in a few minutes. People don't wait for family day anymore, they just sign up when they have a few spare moments in front of a computer.

This is a major factor too. I'd love to see what percentage they make up of overall membership totals for the clubs that offer these small game packages.

You are absolutely right. The surge is based on three factors.

1. The internet
2. Direct debit banking
3. Cheap limited game mamberships

Comparing numbers now with past numbers is not comparing like with like
Yes let the pet counting and fudging begin.........................
