I asked a few people on the Front Row Forums. The Most I could come up with was 5 or 6 . Very bad news there LOL's for your overlap theory . on the weekend it was possible to Watch7 games without overlap. So this is clearly just another bullshit excuse .!

They probably only watch that much because of time limitations ie other things to do.
5 games of NRL is 10 hours viewing and counts by OZTAM as 5 ratings. If I watch the same amount of hours I'm counted 3 and a bit times.
However, If Im home Saturday night I can only watch 1 game despite the fact 2 are on...
Furthermore, not everyone will watch the same games, it will be based on when they have time. By spreading the hours fairly evenly over 4 days like the NRL (2, 4, 6, 4) fans are far more likely to watch most or all of it. I'd imagine many NRL fans would watch Thursday, Friday, 2 games on Saturday and a game or 2 on Sunday.
The AFL is 3, 3, 12, 9hrs which is far more difficult to watch if you have the same time constraints.

Wookie's table shows the AFL is 'viewed' for twice the amount each round.

I'm confused Wookie.
Rugby league is the most watched, most popular sport in Australia.
And AFL is the "world least popular sport"
Ask the league loonies, they'll tell you.
The vigorous nature the ugly little Gollums Polish their precious Gold medal is quite remarkable.
Yet, your tables tell a different story.
Has Oztam picked their game up?
What has changed?

Wookie the total for the round should read 3783 not 3617.
FTA Tot. 1877 +
Fox Tot 1906 = Rd Tot. 3783

Actually you've played more. 32-27.
Bang on Wookie!
Puss is not renowned for his math skills, or english for that matter.
At the end of the AFL's round 8 both leagues will have played 72 games.
We should have a better picture of things then i feel.
