Re: North Sydney Bears Takeover Bid
From a business point of view it could work. I can't see the NRL ever letting Norths remove the team from the Gold Coast if they took over.

Re: North Sydney Bears Takeover Bid
yeh def,
It will remain 100% on the Gold Coast,
the NRL will be looking at financial business model.
and community involvement,
which NORTH'S have on the gold coast through the Leagues clubs,
and INTRUST QLD CUP and lower levels.
the big question is if the NRL will let the name change occur.
and "IF" a game or 2 will be played in North Sydney.

There are now 6 groups in the mix to take over the Titans. That's incredible considering the Titans past problems and recent poor season. It can only be a good thing for the game and the Titans that that many consortiums are having a crack at them.
Imagine the interest if a 2nd Brisbane team was up for grabs or to a lesser extent a Perth team. Good signs ahead.

NRL's sale of Gold Coast Titans to begin this week
Officials will meet with about half a dozen prospective buyers of the Gold Coast Titans, with a view of selling the franchise back into private hands by
October 31.

Re: North Sydney Bears Takeover Bid
Haven't then NRLOL been attempting to hock the polished turd titans off for a while now?
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million
Leagueiscrap
and she still changes your nappies as well!

Re: North Sydney Bears Takeover Bid
nope, there objective as far as I am aware was
there interests was to sell Newcastle Knights before end of season first.
>> which they have in a very successful takeover...
Than move there attention on to the titans>>
where over the past few months interested parties put forward there case..
meetings have begun and NRL would like the club sold before END OF YEAR>>
I have just found out that would like it done before October 30th..

Western Bears': North Sydney Bears back in hunt for NRL return after secret talks with WA group
The North Sydney Bears and a Western Australian consortium are exploring the prospect of joining forces to create a "Western Bears" franchise seeking inclusion in an expanded NRL competition.

The BEARS will never give up
(NRL listen this has a South Melbourne Swans ring to it)

Re: North Sydney Bears Takeover Bid
I thought the Gold Coast Bears wasn't a bad idea considering Norths run a leagues club up there. In the end though the Norths group wouldn't guarantee any serious $$$$$$$$.
Sadly I think the Bears at the top level won't happen again. They seem to put their hand up for every consortium who has a crack at it. WA & the Bears simply won't happen.
