I thought even thr nrl head honchos acknowleged AFL as the number 1 sport in the country ?

Nrl do well and definetelty have aproduct.. Especially with tv , but AFL is so much bigger in so many other respects. Soo is massive though. The reason it become passe in AFL wad due to club games being seen as the priority. Could you imagine the likes of cronk, thurston and gallen all missing due to injury? And if they did play they were very cautuous not to get injured. Not all players were like that but many were

Yes I agree with your analogy - and it's the TICKETS sold not how many watched on tv that count that's why they count a week's earning to determine the winner - so AFL has 3 X the people attending and make twice the money - clearly AFL it's GOLD, GOLD, GOLD!!!!! NRL not even close and gets a participation medallion!

Simple fact is that far more eyeballs are watching a single RL game (SOO) than any AFL game .

theyve won almost all of the friday night comparisons, both on FTA and fox. They get far more viewers on Saturday, and Sunday too

as long as Hawthorn or Geelong dont make the GF, thats all I care about. Even comparing GFs is pretty meaningless. The ratings swing wildly depending on who plays and how close the game is. The fact Hawthorn have won 3 in a row and by a large margin has made our last 3 GFs under-rate by some margin

I think Cronulla v NQ/Bris will be the GF. Cronulla will get a huge Sydney audience, I see this as the NRL''s best result.
