If they get more in the end then you guys can gloat all you like. Be no hard feelings at my end.
Any chance you can enlighten the mongs on your side who are claiming as FACT that the AFL got a bigger deal .
Jesus you have some dead weight on your side of the fence .

Which I seriously doubt now as Foxtel holds the whip hand!
ch 9 paid 900m, Sky and teltsra are worth a good 3m 9+ 3 = 12 or 1.2 billion According to you we will get 1.7m, that means that Foxtel will pay us just $500m? even though It paid your mob 1.3b. and its programs are 20% less popular! So who 's being delusional ???

Wonderful news. Just think how much AFL can do to change the hearts and minds of NSW & Qld to Australias game with 1.5 billion dollars more than the NRL.
You league fans should be worried, AFL will be pushing even more into NSW and Qld than ever before and we have the countries biggest media outlets prefering our sport.
AFL posts are already popping up all over NSW and QLD like never before.
Like I said in my last post. One day AFL will have teams in every NRL team location. AFL have so much more power to grow the game with all that extra cash and an already much bigger fanbase.

$840 million in cash and $60 million in contra.
AFL 900million over 6 years for 7
NRL 925million over 5 years for 9
Rupert Murdoch has directly intervened and pushed the value of Australian Football League broadcast rights to unprecedented heights, agreeing for News Corporation to pay about
$1.3 billion of a record $2.508 billion six-year deal the league has struck.
AFL 1.3Billion over 6 years all games simulcasting
Dont get to excited guys, the NRL only has to offer a 9th game + simulcasting to get 1 billion+ over 5 years for Fox.
The digital rights for the 4 Channel 9 NRL games are non-exclusive meaning that all 8 or 9 games can be resold to a subscription service.
NRL 1.9billion + international rights for about 250million and digital rights still to come over 5 years
AFL 2.5billion over 6 years which =
2.08billion over 5 years all gone sold.
Not taking anything away from this tv deal its a really good result but
wait for the fat lady to sing....

Your a little wrong my friend.
The NRL channel 9 deal is for 4 games exclusive for 925 million. The deal loses 30 million a year (150 million) if all four of those games are simulcast. So a simulcast deal will reduce the input of c9 to 775 million. 9 owns the digital rights to those 4 games. However I can see the NRL equaling the AFL deal by getting about 2 billion over 5 years after they sell the rest of the rights.
The deal looses 25million a year which puts the deal at
800m over 5 years or 160m a year, still more then the C7 Fta deal for AFL of 150m a year over 6 years.
all 8 games and a possible 9th game simulcasting would net the NRL
1billion+ over 5 years easy.
4 games are digital with 9 but are non exclusive to 9 so we have Digital rights to all 8/9 games to sell
250m,
International rights
50m
NZ Sky
100m
i Guess we will see in 2 years time.
Unfortunately your slightly wrong again. C7 only has 3.5 AFL games per week for 6 years while c9 has 4 NRL games a week + SSO over 5 years. If the NRL games are simulcast (we will use your 800 million figure) you will receive 40 million per game per year. While the AFL will receive 42.8 million per game per year. You have also thrown in SOO as well.

The NRL have 4 games left to sell, and they aren't the prime games, this talk of Fox coming in with a late bid for those 4 games 'and' to simulcast the C9 games is ridiculous, firstly Fox won't be paying the NRL for the right to simulcast C9 games, they'll be paying C9, NRL won't get a cent.
Secondly, you're fucked, good luck trying to hock your bottom 4 games for 1.5 billion.
Is it a full moon tonight.. Looks like all the AFL lunatics have come out lol...
That is hilarious you actually think fox won't deal with the NRL when it is easily the most popular telivised sport on fox in NSW and Qld.
They would lose so many subscribers by not covering NRL.
There would be more of a chance of another country taking AFL seriously than that happening..

Fox have 5.5 AFL games exclusive compared to NRL having 4-5 games exclusive. Clearly AFL games are worth more (see my 42.8 million figure from my last post compared to 40 million with SOO thrown in). AFL got 1.3 billion off fox over 6 years which is about 215 million per year. I can't see fox giving more then 180 million per year or 900 million for the 9 NRL games simulcast.
Which would give the NRL 1.7 billion. They might get to 2 billion with NZ and digital. Less if they don't introduce a new team. Anyway it's a good result about the same as AFL.

Yeah I don't think it will be as much as the AFL total as AFL had an extra game every week.
But there is no way fox will have a no deal with NRL broadcasting . Is too valuable to them in Southern states.
Hopefuĺly this will be more of an incentive for the NRL to expand.

the NRL deal is only 30% complete...
So your saying FTA is worth only 30% of the total TV rights? I seriously doubt that but hey feel free to post a source!
well being that it most likely will be FOX simulcasting all games. and CH9 will decrease a touch each year.
and digital NZ still to go..
I would say yeah its about 30% maybe 36.6%
