Hehe.
Heck, even the lowly Les Catalans Dragons from France where RL has been strangled to death have played in front of 87,000 people.
but but
RL doesn't get crowds

Haha Featherstone Rugby League club with the smallest or one of the smallest populations in England have played in front of crowds way bigger than what Liverpool have at home, near as good as what the MCG game got on a few occasions tho.
lol

Doesn't matter. The AFL don't look at whether or not it's an AFL city. They look at pure numbers. They'll move in on Canberra. Startrack Oval is a good venue. If it wasn't for the fact that there isn't (AFAIK) a good venue in Newcastle they'd target that city as well. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying that's what they'll do.
hahahahahhahaha fuck your a funny man
Fuck me you're actually cos arent you. This is his bullshit line.
The AFL has next to no support in Newcastle, and crowds and tv ratings in the regions dont support a team in either area. Not to mention other than government support theres fuck all corporate support in the ACT for a team requiring at least 20 million a year + AFL distributions to keep up with the other teams - as GWS is going to find out when the ACT sponsorship ends. The AFL has NEVER mentioned Newcastle, not once, when it comes to expansion, and I cant recall a document that mentions Canberra outside of a FIFO destination.
Its like those idiots saying there'll be an AFL team in North Queensland. There wont be for the same reasons Ive outlined above.
Again - that will not stop the AFL from trying. All those figures went against GWS as well, and yet the AFL went ahead. What will stop Newcastle is the lack of a venue (does this Cos person claim they have one?). You'll find if so that this is the real reason why they didn't mention Newcastle. As far as Canberra goes, the statement made above by the AFL CEO is based in the fact that they are relying on the Giants to bring crowds to Startrack. Once they realise this is the wrong way to go about it, they'll realise they need a team there.
Don't throw this "this isn't an AFL town" around. Sydney's not. Neither's Brisbane. And yet they both have clubs.

Lol .
You should have stuck to explaining why the sokka mob hoped to get a tv rights increase using player numbers .
We suspected you were mentally unhinged.
Your posting in this thread does more than confirm you are a fruit loop.

The MCG match isn't the biggest crowd Liverpool have played in front, 100,000 at Wembly for a start.

You were making out it was the greatest thing ever, I just showed you that even little village towns in the north of England have played in front of crowds as big and bigger than the lot you were raving about.
It happens in most sports where there is demand and a stadium big enough to hold the people, well done, maybe one day, the A League clubs can join the ranks of Liverpool, Port Adelaide, Canberra and Featherstone
