Aren't the Wanderers getting a new stadium built near the proposed Badgereys Creek airport? Was sure I saw a headline like that the other day.

the wanderers want to stay at parra and just get it upgraded or a new stadium built on top of it
the nrl is pushing for a stadium in either liverpool or penrith because they cant raise the funds any other way and are forced into a situation where they have to back penrith because penrith cant campaign on their own(a club that averages barely 10k, no members etc, has no business lobbying for a 40k stadium), same as the other nrl clubs out west or in sydney in general
they all want upgrades to their suburban grounds or new stadiums in their place...yet all of them can't draw a fly and aren't showing any positive signs for the future. none of these clubs have shown any progress in the last 100 years aside from souths recent resurgence - yet not only do they want a 40k stadium, none of them have any means to pay for one....

The NRL will get their stadium built by the NSW govt
a 45k seater at Liverpool
& take out a 30 year lease as major tennent taking ownership of the venue at the end of the lease exactly the same way the VFL will with Etihad in 2022
All 4 NRL clubs in Sydneys west will play 8 games each out of it ... with the other 4 mainly against out of town opposition being played at their other venues
Parra Stad
ANZ
Campbelltown
Penrith
Leichardt
Although the Bulldogs have indicated they will continue to play their bigger games at ANZ against Souths & Parramatta etc
Other rectangle sports will be played there
But the NRL will always have first dibs & all other scheduling will take place around the NRLs requirements
Parra Stad will get a minor upgrade due to start this year with extra seating added bringing capacity up to 24k
The new Liverpool venue will be completed in time for the 2020 NRL season
The NRL has indicated to the Govt they will not support a major upgrade of Parra Stad or any other venue built anywhere else
The Govt will not build or upgrade any rectangle venue in Sydney without the NRL
Sorry western sydney wankers
You' re still a minor club in a minor sport
The NRL rules
& They will get what they want

u know they wouldn't need to put another 4,500 seats at Parra stadium if the hooligans stopped jumping on them.
It's like shitting in your own nest, why do that when you can shit in your neigbours?
Derp!

Put in safe standing and all seats will be fine at the home end, not like NRL need seats at that end, they never fill it.
Raiderdave, you are dreaming about the Liverpool stadium, not going to happen.
beaussie, as SydneyFC wrote, Wanderers don't want to leave Parramatta, the 'stadium' at badegerys creek was a concept design (1 of 3) and doesn't fit into anyone planning that the Wanderers have done. If Wanderers were to move anywhere for a new stadium it would be Blacktown (well rooty hill to be precise) the World Cup bid had a stadium option at the Olympic Park out there.
B ut the desire is to stay at Parramatta, because it is central, it is easier to get to from most of western sydney, plus match day experience is better, dues to restaurants and pubs in the vicinity

Who gives a fuck where it was, is Stadium Australia just up the road from Parra?
Well is it you lying flog?
Just because wsw have got 19k once in their life doesn't mean they are the biggest thing since sliced bread, you and your mate are completely stark raving loons.
Get back when you can have 20k watching at the ground and at least 100k watching on TV, that's how small your sport is out here idiot, out rated by womens cricket, smaller crowd than watched the Jillaroos and generally ignored bar the lot like you that keeps screaming, look at me, look at me, we filled Parra stadium once so we must be bigger than the eels, please look at me.

Oh and Parra have broke 20k averages at Parra before, your lot never will, never ever even if they put 4.5k more seats in.
Hahaha, small club riding a wave of publicity and struggle to fill Parra while winning and playing for championships, god help you when the losing starts, it'll be Northern Spirit mark II.

1,000-1,500 reported on the news last night at 6pm channel 9.
I think if any Sydney club won a trophy, they'd have more than 1,500 turn up, I know when my team played in their last GF against the storm there was a sell out at ANZ and at least 15,000 at Parra stadium watching on the big screen.
15,000 makes 1,500 look kinda small aye.
