The Swans have to be given extra & it is a given they will make the finals wink wink....yet their finals crowds have dropped massively in Syd.

That's just plain incorrect to say the lions are practically irrelevant in Brisbane. I work there and certainly they are not like the Suns on the Gold Coast but they have a large following and constantly in the media.

The lions and gc are insignificant up there. They get ok cwowds but their tv ratings are godawful aren't they?

Would agree on TV rating but would have to check with Wookie re Suns as regional .... But both get plenty of media , lots actually ... In fact, AFL matches get mentioned on radio and TV (more so radio) even when Suns or lions aren't playing. Suns are riding a wave on the Gold Coast and have a very strong local supporter base. Probably as big if not bigger than the Titans but nrl is broadly much bigger ... By a way .

Lions have a rusted on supporter base but need to get their shit together soon.
