Looking at the article it would appear he was taken to task by the two hosts and booed by the audience . Comments also seem to be negative ... So a good response from the gal community .

Good response from the other presenters, but doesn't excuse this dimwit, that's for sure. Given he is still a big name for AFL, then this is still a big issue for the AFL to deal with.

Newman should have been kicked off television years ago.

Actually, having him around and making a total tool of himself allies the opportunity for everyone to see that 1. What a total dick he is 2. How out if tune he is, 3. Allows for a negative role model ... That is, if you behave like this your a dick and everyone else thinks you're a dick. Not sure the AFL cam dictate to 9 who to put on their shows. Unfortunately there will still be the raider daves of this world who think like Newman and uses homophobic slurs as some type of put down.

There is a way to deal with this, Phelpsy. The AFL can tell 9 either get rid of Newman, or they will never be considered in the next TV rights deal.
