One "controversial" players comments show I'm wrong....lol

How do you know no player is game to come out? Maybe they just feel there is no need to make an issue of it? Does someone has to "come out" of they are heterosexual ? I think coming out is a real 80's concept. Maybe 90s. But this day and age no cares nor should they. No one could care less if you are gay it not.

Whilst at it Acker's comments where taken the wrong way. He was asked to write that by the aflpa and he was saying back then, no one was ready for a gay AFL player. Now I just think it is such a non issue. Collingwood have a strong gay supporter group called the pink army so no problems there. Do you really think someone saying they are gay would cause a stir ? Seriously? I can't think of anywhere in society this would be an issue.

On saying that you still get individuals that to call someone gay is an insult and that goes across all sports and society ... But hey that's humanity. There are still people who call people ****** as an insult too... You're always going to get that I guess.

I don't think anyone would really care less if a gay player takes his partner to the brownlow? As a first it may make news but there would be no negativity about it that's for sure. And why would there be? Do you really think on this day and age people would be shocked or aghast ??? I think it would be celebrated but even then I thinks that's wrong because it's just normal so why celebrate something that is normal ?

I just don't think any one cares if a player is gay. Why should they. There are plenty of left footed players playing the game and that's not an issue. I fail to see how someone's sexuality has anything to do with how they play football?

No it doesn't. It shows how attitudes towards gays still has room for improvement in Australian society. I don't see attitudes different amongst any sport in Australia. I will say though from my experience the RL fans I know are the least accepting of alternative lifestyles.

Seriously , they would love it, embrace it... For all the reasons you mentioned.

Answer those questions honestly ... And you will see there is no issue re whether a player is gay or not. It's such a non issue.
