Oh no of course not you lot don't care about money do you? :P :P :P :P :P
Yea we don't. The $1.3 billion deal pretty much covers most of the NRL's finances.

Wouldn't mind a sold out Eden Park final to be honest. Try and get a couple thousand more there than RWC 2011 would be good. I think capacity changes as seating changes there so definitely possible. 45k in wales, 67k and 74k sellout in england, 50k+ in nz, and whatever suncorp held for RLWC 08 is not too bad for international RL. Let's hope it keeps growing like it has since 2008!
$1.025 Billion, if otherwise can some one please prove it
'can someone please prove it'

Sure no worries.

http://www.theroar.com.au/2012/08/21/fu ... l-tv-deal/

this is the details of the $1.025 billion deal. No mention of digital and NZ rights except for, "As significant as this agreement is there are still substantial broadcasting properties yet to be negotiated. These include our New Zealand television rights and our mobile and website properties."

Digital Deal - $100 million:

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/technol ... 6637158676#

NZ Deal - Currently $70 million - Reported to be $100 million for new deal

"While the likely five-year contract would definitely be more than the $14 million a year SKY currently pays for the NRL broadcast rights and near the $100 million figure, it appears increasingly likely there will not be a significant rise in payment."

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/leag ... z2n366fLMU

So, 1.025 billion + 0.1 bilion + 0.1 billion gives..... $1.225 billion. Pretty much the same as AFL except we broadcast significantly less hours of TV and hence ads making RL a more valuable commodity.

If Aus gets the WC in 2017, maybe yes.

If it is a joint bid between NZ and Aus, no, NZ should have the final because Aus had it last time. NZ haven't held a final for 25 years. And if that is the case, I would have no problem if Mel hosted a semi final, but I don't think they should go near the MCG.
Aus & NZ will get the next RLWC, as there is no other country in the world that would hold it, the NRL would also save heaps on travel and accommodation at to nearly all the players are based out of NSW or QLD :(/
Well, ummm, the last one that finished just over a week ago was held in 4 (four) countries. Australia, New Zealand and PNG will all host games the next time a WC is held in this part of the world, that's another 3 (three) countries again. Then there is the bid from South Africa for the next RLWC, that's another 1 (one) country to add to the list. Don't tell anyone though, it's a secret :-$

Why? Can't pack it out? :P
No, it's a bloody Oval ](*,)

Hence a semi final at docklands where the seats can move in and who could complain about a 50,000+ crowd for a semi esp if it did not involve the host nation?

Naaa, that's your lot. The RLWC is about spreading the game into newer territories.

yeah
I'd go Melbourne & say Wellington NZ for the Semi's

1/4 finals
Sydney Allianz
Brisbane Suncorp
Newcastle
Waikato NZ

& a fullhouse 60,000 at Eden Park Auckland for the final

wow
just wow
:(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
it will attract no interest like the last RLWC in aus,
lets guess where they will play the games
NSW mmmm
Qld mmm
thats about all
will still play to half empty suburban stadiums
Eh?

Every one of those stadiums will hold at least 40,000 by the time of the next RLWC, Australia will play in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and probably Canberra against whichever team is offered up in their supposed new stadium (don't know the capacity but I think it'll be around 30k).. In the last 5 or so years that Australia has played at these stadiums, they have sold out each time. What makes you think they won't sell out for WC games?

As for other games between the smaller nations, as we seen this year with Tonga v Samoa with no promotion and TV coverage given at the last minute, people will watch. It out rated the QLD reds S15 game that was on at the same time. It also had around 12,000 attendance which was fantastic for something that was scrapped together at the last minute. With money, time and promotion, I see no reason why these games won't get good crowds for the next RLWC to be held in Australia.

I can see you're going to love every minute of it already because this last one hooked each and every one of you from the outset simply because RL can and does have a world cup. The only two I didn't see having too many shots (which was weird) were BeArsie and Xdrongowood, they were suspiciously quiet, too quiet. I think they didn't want to say anything bad because they could see it was ........ actually pretty good :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

I welcome all our new converts, now go on your way and pick your club teams very very carefully and as for the original turn coat BeArsie, once bitten twice shy. RL only gives you one chance, make the most of it :<>

pending on what time of the year the RLWC is on, all i can say is good luck with getting etihad, the AFL refused soccer Australia to add etihad on to the list of stadiums for the soccer world cup when they put in a bid in for it

there are contracts in place with the the owners of etihad & the AFL, with usage of the stadium, due to the AFL will be taking ownership of the ground in the early 2020's so booking the stadium and playing a game of League, will have some difficulties

Does the nrl broadcast money incorporate naming rights as well ? And what are the AFL naming rights worth. That would be a good indicator as you would think maybe nrl would be at least two thirds of the AFL naming rights?

WC would not be held during the season, it'll be held at the end just like the one that finished last week.

whatever else would they do? :_<> :_<>

AFL fans making comments about RLWC gave me a good laugh given the state of their international scene. RLWC 2013 exceeded all my expectations, and even the organisers. Highest attended RLWC ever, and best average attendance since it was expanded to include more than the normal 4 or 5 teams i think.

after 08 and 13 the international scene has some decent credibility, and the minnows are definitely getting closer. Average defeats from 2000 to 2008 fell dramatically, and they fell slightly in 2013 despite an extra 4 teams being added! Hopefully they expand to 16 and keep it like that for a couple of cups and feed all the profits made back into France, Jamaica, the islands then USA and Canada.

thats right the rest of Australia are jelous, we are still trying to get over the last world cup here in 2008. the one that no one knew was on, the one that was played in NSW and QLD :?>
wow 2008 the rlwc is played here 2013 world cup in england next world cup now Aus again, how about play it in another country, seeing how rl is such the world game :-k
it will struggle to fill the shitty NRL suburban grounds, in its own home land of NSW & QLD

AFL fans are rolling on the ground with fits of laughter at the NRL at the best of times, yet the RLWC is the icing on the cake :_<>

Lamest excuse ever! Doesn't stop the FFA playing it's home World Cup qualifiers there!

And by the way, AFL makes way more money than rugby league even WITH that poor excuse for a "world cup".
