only reason AFL's 1.2bil deal is even comparable to nrl is cause there's soooo many ads in a fumber's game. played in quarters for a start, and there's so many more stoppages.

I would prefer sat arvo to remain personally. Sunday night is for ratings ... Prime time ... Doesn't consider the funds at all ...

I assume you mean ... the fans you drop kick ?
& this is a myth
what possible reason is a fan disadvantaged by a night GF over a day one other then a cockheaded stubbornness not to accept change in the modern world
VFL is a backward sport
followed by backward fans
played in
a backwater .....

Your grand final has been in this timeslot in the past and fans disliked it, so for once the nRL changed it back to the twilight slot. This year as the nRL was busy prostituting themselves to TV again, they decided to change it to Sunday night again for the extra money. You really need to wake up and realise the nRL are just a bunch of money hungry sell outs.

About 220k down on last year. Sydney was down 265k for obvious reasons. Thats the penalty for playing a day grand final, you get far fewer occasional viewers.
2012 SEVEN’S AFL: GRAND FINAL: HAWTHORN V SYDNEY Seven 2,937,000 609,000 1,331,000 295,000 309,000 393,000
so about 750K regionals
seriously no one in Regional NSW or QLD would have given a shit with Free Ho's involvement.........
& we're at 3.475 to 3.5 Million odd ...... down 600K on 2012
currently the VFL GF sits ............. 4th ....well behind all 3 RL's State Of Origins
with SOO II attracting 3.875 Mill holding down the Bronze medal ATM
so
theres no medal for the fumbles n bumbles in 2013
wow fumblers ............. wow

:_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>
I was told your fumbling bumbling & missing ( & there was plenty of that yesterday ) GF
was the biggest game of footy in the land

hmmmmmm
yet in 2013
its not the
biggest
or
the 2nd biggest
or 3rd
& quite probably after next sunday night
4th biggest either
in my best Pauline Hanson voice
please explain ?

@MediaweekAUS: Sat TV ratings #AFLGF national (metro+reg) Seven 3,631,000 (national FTA share 80% Perth share 91%)
How'd that work for you? :<>
80% FTA share! Holy crap! Imagine that in prime time!

Agree. Keep the tradition. Extra ratings doesn't benefit the fan when we still get the countries best TV dollar

What about the fact 7 of 8 games are shown concurrently? The NRL have a huge advantage because their game is so short and they show all but a game or two a round in prime time. Yet the AFL still get more Australian TV money

So, the AFL with regionals got 3.631m
The last two NRL GFs that didnt involve the storm were 2011 and 2010 which got:
2010
1 RUGBY LEAGUE GRAND FINAL: ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA V SYDNEY ROOSTERS Nine 2,091,000 1,127,000 221,000 635,000 33,000 75,000
2011
1 RUGBY LEAGUE GRAND FINAL: MANLY V NZ WARRIORS Nine 2,027,000 1,021,000 347,000 524,000 48,000 87,000
Both got about 1.2m regionals so 3.2-3.3m
Will moving this years game to 7 prime time make the difference?

of course it will
the last NRL GF at night not involving the Storm was in 2005.... it got 2.5 Million for the metros & there was only 1 Sydney side playing
I'd say we'll get something similar next Sunday
& regionals will be around the 1.3 to 1.4 Million mark
sweeeeetttttttt

Yeah, that involved the broncos, which almost rated as high as Sydney. They aren't in it this year.

really
cos
134 million to 123 Million says something different cockhead
& even with its fudged dodgy pay ratings
the NRL has plastered the VFL to the wall during this years final series .....
& the VFL had most of its big guns in
Collington
Richendon
Carlarlington
Whorethorn
where as the NRL was missing most of its biggins
Parramatta
St George Illawarra
Brisbane
Wests Tigers
the VFL has been embarrassed by the NRL in this final series for TV veiwers
& theres no denying it
